We are closing early like years before so we can all head home and have our own little thanksgiving dinners. We wish you all a happy thanksgiving.

Holidays hours are from 6:00 until our tamales run out. We have ended up closing early every single day since thanksgiving because we have not been able to keep up with demand.

We have completely ran out of tamales for today. We decided to close much early than normal so we can prepare for tomorrow and open at the regular time.

Our name since we move to our current location, at 5390 Whittier blvd. has been Sandra's & Lolita's Tamales. Over the years there has been confusion with Lolita's Tamales. To make it easer for everyone, we shorted our name to just Sandra's Tamales. We have update our logo too, the logo will be uploaded shorty.

Hello our name has change 3 time so far going from "Lolita's Tamales", then to "Sandra's & Lolita's Tamales" when we move to our current location. We Have now shorted the name down to "Sandra's Tamales". The only thing that has changed is our name, we are still the same people with the same great tamales.

"Chicken tamales are the best."
"The chili sauce is what sets them apart from all the others."

Awful taste bad line outside. Service was terrible. When we opened the tamales they were really runny and the chili spilled everywhere. They were the worst tamales I have ever eaten. Don't come here! I don't know why this has almost 5 stars. Don't waste your money go somewhere else!

When we get a complaint it's from new customers and it tends to be somewhat similar to yours. Our tamales are really soft, especially when they were barely done it takes about 1 to 2 hours for them to Stiffen up. People sometimes call our tamales wet tamales. Our tamales need to be eaten on a plate because of how soft and juicy they are it's what makes our tamales popular. On the taste all I can say is sorry that you did not like the taste but we think our tamales taste great.

Some if the best tasting tamales in all of LA, in my opinion. The tamales are never dry and contain plenty of meat.

Tamales are suppose to be stiffed and ready to eat not wet!! Confused about whats so good about this place? Rather go to the tamalera on the street.
Response from the owner - 2 months ago
There are many way to make tamales, tamales are indigenous to at least 15 counties and, in each country there are different way to wrap and to make the tamale, in the Los Angeles area you mostly see the dryer corn/paper wrap tamale, which makes it easy to eat without the need for a fork and plate. Our tamales are wet and soft it's just another way to make tamales for our tamales you need the pate and fork. Some people call our tamales Wet tamales which i find a great way to describe our tamales, If we had know it was your first time there we would have ward you about the fact our tamales are wet, it's a very common complaint from people who have never been there before, but at the same time it's the reason we are very popular.
