Here's an easy hike near Deltona that'll get you out in the woods for an hour - a warmup to a much more extensive trail system at Palm Bluff.
The 2.2 mile White Trail at Palm Bluff Conservation Area near Deltona provides a sampling of habitats found in the sweep of landscapes in this 3,321 acre preserve.

An amazing natural phenomenon that caught us by surprise on our morning walk yesterday along the Sanford Riverwalk   #rainbow   #fogbow   #Sanford   #refraction
It's not often you find yourself inside an unusual natural phenomenon. The perfect combo of fog, sun, and the St. Johns River wrapped us in a fogbow along the Sanford Riverwalk.

An amazing natural phenomenon that takes just the right conditions to make it happen - and I lucked into it on a very strenuous day of hiking. #rainbow   #rainbowswamp   #swampthings   #floridahikes   #floridatrail
A perfect combination of cold weather, blue skies, and winter in a North Florida cypress swamp let us happen upon two instances of rainbow swamps on a hike in the Osecola Experimental Forest. Does that make a double rainbow?

We stumbled across this brand-new trail system in north Brevard County yesterday - miles to roam!
Straddling the sandy uplands of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge, Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary protects 1,500 acres of flatwoods, scrub, and wetlands in North Brevard while offering more than 6 miles of hiking.

Remember to play safe outdoors this time of year by wearing plenty of bright orange.
Fall is a fabulous time for hiking in Florida, but you need to be aware that you may be sharing the trails with hunters, too. Here's how to find out where, and where you can go where hunting is not permitted.

Here's how to get the whole family to the National Parks - if there's a fourth-grader in your life.
Got kids? If any of them are in fourth grade, they can get a free pass to ALL Federal public lands good for the whole family through August 31, 2016. Here's how.
