Oh, well done! I never thought of doing it virtually, i.e. without messing up/vandalising a perfectly good page of a book, and anyway didn't have a clue where to start. I don't think my minds works in a way which would be able to select words to make something coherent. This, to my mind, does work, despite your doubts.

Is this the beginning of a month-long series? I like the crumpled blue sirens

Perfect match of words to image; or the other way about. Being, more or less in the first group (with a marital twist) the college friends I didn't have, but in later years, that "When you are talking there is a flow," that mutual understanding of things discovered, then yes indeed, there is that recognition of a "connection draws gold lines towards a friendship."  Lovely thoughtful, thought-provoking piece.

Took me a while to catch up with this - knew the headline but nowt else. Love the voice of the narrator - selfish, self-deluding, calculating and so sadly optimistic.

Captured the (embarrassingly long) moment perfectly!  And yesterday I unearthed Powell's Store map - more memories there too.

Read this with empathy  and admiration - I've never earned a penny from my writing, but I have self-pubbed stuff which, while far from cringe-worthy, is not what I'd do now.
Ian Rankin felt the same - all his more recently-published Rebus books have  an intro referring to the mistakes he now perceives and would like to change, but won't.  If we do our best each time no-one can complain, and that was seek to improve is what keeps us writing.  (Not everyone does!)

Lovely!  Lovely rhythm to the words and sympathetically well-read, as you said

I obviously did a lot of things wrong, since I was asked "Are you serious about wanting to be represented?"  Next year I'll ask for more advice.  :)

Heathcliff when I was pre-teen, but nowadays less so ... I know I'm not alone in having Francis Crawford of Lymond  at the top of my permanent list!  Love the title of this!

Late to this and absolutely fascinated.  I'd heard of colour being associated with words; names and personalities, but hadn't realised the huge depth and range of possible effects.  I shall come back and read again, and again to try to fully understand, because this is a huge subject which you have explained with an impressive lucidity.  Thank you.
