I smell records compare able to episode IV. That would be amazing.
Star Wars Episode VII has already sold over $9 million worth of IMAX tickets, sold out over 1,000 showings in AMC theaters alone, and has - in the first 24 hours - sold more than 8 times as many tickets as the previous record holder for Most Pre-Sold Tickets, held by The Hunger Games, which sold tickets for about two months before the first showing.

The Force is unbelievably strong with this one.

Disney best pray this movie blows everyone away, or they're gonna be utterly destroyed with such pure, concentrated geek rage it'll make the Death Star look like a laser pointer and have Alderaan saying "Daaaaaaaaang, son!"

This rant is dead on. If you don't see it, you should get out if marketing before it bites you in the butt (if it hasn't already beat you into the ground).
Social Media Quality: Likes & Retweets Don't Mean Nothing

I like this rant by +Jonathan Gebauer. Social "influence" tools like +Klout depend heavily on retweets as a measure of Twitter quality, and Facebook's beta Graph Search leans heavily on Likes as an indication of what should be at the top of your search results.

But is either of these a good indication of quality? I agree with the author: no!

I wrote about why I think Likes are a terrible signal for a search recommendation engine: http://www.virante.org/blog/2013/01/15/facebook-graph-search-search-quality-and-the-meaning-of-like/
