A year (and a week, missed the anniversary) ago I met up with Akram for the morning. Then I met Seb and met Tom. First time I was kettled on a protest. Remember the conservation we had with the two gentlemen in Wetherspoons?
It feels weird. It feels like more than a year ago (technically it is), but also it seems quite recent.

Some US cinemas to allow customers to text during films. Eww. Do not come over here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-36043996

This is such a bad idea. Throwback: http://samuelshoesmith.co.uk/2015/01/09/the-theory-of-everything-and-mobiles/

It's not against the law but it's convention not to. I have witnessed aggression reprimands from fellow cinema goers (because of the glow) and there's the threat of being kicked out of the screen and prosecuted if being accused of recording.

I remember as a child watching Child of Our Time nearly every year. At a time when I was learning the intricacies of the nature and nurture debate, watching a programme aim to answer “Are we born or are we made?” with real life case studies was a wonderful opportunity.

Love, like or loathe him, it is difficult to deny how great an orator he is and the wonderful charisma he has. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA5ezR0Kh80

Yay. Enforce this nationwide. At my local train station, cars stationary with engines running?! http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/clean-london-air-force-to-fine-drivers-who-leave-engines-idling-a3226526.html
A new “air force” is to be deployed in London to stops hundreds of drivers leaving their engines idling and spewing out toxic fumes. Two traffic wardens will be tasked mainly with reducing engine idling and raising awareness about air quality. They will be able to issue £20 on-the-spot fines if drivers refuse to turn off their engines when parked. If the pilot project in Westminster is successful, four more traffic wardens will join the pol...

Ate here yesterday. We waited quite a while for a table but that was only because it was so popular. The restaurant was packed just after midday. They have these handheld devices which vibrate and flash to alert you when a table is free. So we went outside for a bit and sat in the pub area for a while. They apologised about the wait, and quickly guided us to our table. The ordering was quick (all entered on an app on a phone so no mistakes) and then the cooking time was super speedy! It was £10 for all you can eat salad, a main, all you can drink and a Sundae Best! Very tasty. Very good value. Enjoyed the food and the sea view. :)

I'd never been to this hairdressers before. Just back from university and needed my hair cut. I brought in a photo showing the kind of style I wanted. The lady, Michelle, asked exactly what I wanted and then clarified it whilst she was cutting and styling. Very impressed. A good 40 minutes was spent on my hair and all for a very, very good price. Definitely going back and will recommend to friends and family! Thank you.

Asked for a regular portion of chips thinking it would be regular but it was enormous! I eat a lot, and even I couldn't finish them.

Fantastic supermarket! Very handy. Nicely laid out (just wish they would stop changing things around). I phoned to check whether they had an item in stock and found a local number (rarity!) and they immediately answered and quickly looked for me. Very good service. Not sure what the other person is on about. It's not hard to get in!? This is not a local store issue, but a silly Sainsbury's policy. If you look under 25, they ask for ID when buying *any* item that requires ID. I'm 19 years old (soon to be 20) and the woman asked for my ID to buy a lottery ticket. (You have to be 16 to buy them.) -_- I had no ID on me and she wouldn't budge. I could have been dished out the winning numbers at that particular point. I am thinking of suing, or something.

I ordered a takeaway from Lucky's and it was lovely. The cooking time wasn't too long and it was delivered still piping hot. The dishes were delicious! Wasn't terribly expensive. Would order again.
