Rape is about power, control and opportunity not just sex. Some rapists have families, women in their lives but see a chance to get something.
Prostitution is more about demand and supply. Men get women or women they can't normally have as they are married, ugly, not rich etc. (Mostly) two different mechanisms.
Domestic abuse wouldn't go down either for same reasons. It's personality type issues or problems that cause that. I haven't had sex in going on three years now (was married now a divorced single father part time) yet I wouldn't rape a woman even if opportunity arose ie in car alone, drunk etc. I'm not built that way.
By extension I wouldn't use a prostitute either as that's not me for philisophical, health and economic reasons. It's simply not what I'm looking for.
That psychological analysis aside on paper I'm 37, in theory can't hold down a relationship, frustrated at work etc a textbook example of rapist lol
Social services, police, school counselling services, hospitals need to be more aligned to fight a growing epidemic of mental defects that are brought about by broken homes, abuse, societal factors and lack of parental/supervisory guidance. We are simply being hardwired wrong.
The services are ILL equipped to handle these things. Take it from an abuse victim who still has no acknowledgment of issues raised that directly affect him and his child and I'm in system for a year and a half. The system simply cannot cope with difficult situations.
If a child came to a teacher and said miss I want to f u what would they do? Punish him? Tell parents? If he told another child? Write it off with light punishment? Children being children? Symptoms all over being missed. Sorry I know I kind of went overboard but truth is that it's not a simple one answer but but a complex Web needed to filter and identify those who are crying out for help...
