It looks like a lot of effort, but after a few goes it's a lot easier than it looks. I'm definitely going to make use of this one next time I have to wear a tie.

So, I spent the morning interviewing a whole bunch of rabid Apple fanboys. Verdict? Everyone wanted gold and no one wanted plastic.

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/video/2013/sep/20/iphone-5s-5c-apple-fans-video
Customers at the Apple store in Covent Garden, central London, tell Samuel Gibbs why they are prepared to spend hours - and in some cases, days - waiting to get their hands on the new iPhone 5s and 5c. With the phone's launch date staggered across different countries, some are buying the phone in order to sell it abroad for a quick buck

Right, that's it. After 2 years and 3060 posts, I'm leaving Gizmodo UK for pastures new. Exciting things (at least for me!) start Monday.

To all the Giz UK commenters: Thanks for all the laughs, tears and general chit-chat -- it wouldn't have been the same without you all.

To all my Google+ peeps -- I wasn't at Intel last night because I was at a Dark Knight Rises pre-release screening. I won't say much, but I will say, you can see it without fear of it being overhyped. It's a corker.

I come back to Google + for the first time in ages only to find about 1/3 of the people I had in my circles originally aren't in my circles any more and need to be added again. How weird.

Fine so far. I live in a pretty quiet, well-to-do area, although that hasn't stopped the likes of Ealing getting smashed in. Fingers crossed it's over for London.

Service was awful. They made us wait for 10 minutes without telling us whether they could seat us for breakfast, despite plenty of tables free. Left after our third inquiry was met with "just a minute". No thank you.

Terrible service and high prices. Ordered and paid for £60 worth of food and waited best part of an hour only to discover they had no record of our order. What a joke.

Great curry, well priced. I have yet to have anything other than a great meal there. Would recommend to anyone seeking a decent, not-overly expensive curry.

Fantastic sushi, some of the best I've had anywhere, which combined with excellent, attentive service and a nice atmosphere made for a great meal. I would thoroughly recommend Tomo Sushi. €70 bought enough for two people to have to be rolled home, so not expensive for a sushi place, especially this good, by any stretch of the imagination.

Good sushi, not too expensive, vibrant atmosphere, and usually great service. If you like proper sushi, I'd recommend Sticks'N'Sushi, but if you're after anything else, don't bother.

Fantastic place for lunch. Real character with a good split between locals and tourists, which is a good sign. The BLT on brown bread is particularly good, and a full lunch with beer for two comes to well under €20. Service with a smile this is not, but the owner and staff are attentive and do a great job. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you're around the Amsterdam Museum.
