No school tomorrow so that's nice for the kids. No word on whether I'll have to go to work tomorrow but one can always hope!

Interview of Jason Wong, Director of Product Marketing at TiVo. The video provides a very detailed look at the TiVo strategy and a glimpse at where they are heading with second screen devices like the iPad.

This is my 2-tuner box so you can see what's recording on the other tuner. The 4-tuner Elite shows a slightly different view that I like better.

The two blue check-marks indicate a season pass that is going to be recorded. The single blue check-mark indicates an upcoming recording.

My wife and I stayed at the JW for 5 nights. We were in town for a USTA Nationals tennis tournament that took place at the Refkin Tennis Center on the other side of town. I had previously stayed at the resort for a brief work trip a few years ago. I would rate our experience as above average but there are definitely a number of areas where the resort could improve. As a frequent Marriott guest with over 100 nights this year, I would say that being a Platinum is essentially meaningless at this property since it is classified as a resort. You do receive free internet and the points or $10 food/service amenity upon check-in and that's about it. We did not have the opportunity to check out the fitness area or use the on-site spa. Both restaurants are good. We really enjoyed the food/service/wine at Primo although it was closed for two of the days we were on the property which was disappointing. One of the nights (Sunday) was because of a private party. Our biggest issue was with the front desk staff. When we checked in the front desk attempted to give us a room with double beds. We had to wait until 4p for an upgraded city-view room with a king bed. The room was nice and close to the lobby. We had given the front desk my cell phone number to call when our room was available. They never called and the room was available when we went back to the front desk to check. We then received our keys and went to the room. They gave us a room with two double beds. We went back to the front desk and they gave us the king room. They weren't very apologetic and didn't compensate us for the inconvenience. The other area that is a common area of concern I've read in other reviews is the distance to self-parking. It is truly a hike that becomes irritating after a while. Self parking is $10/day and Valet is $20/day. I really think the resort should compensate Platinum's and provide Valet parking for the same rate as self-parking. Finally, the towels being provided in the rooms are very substandard and gray in color. It appears that they are supposed to be white. I've come to expect a certain level of towels from Marriott and these towels were clearly inferior. On the positive side, the traditional tequila toast at 5:30 PM each evening is fun and the patio area is beautiful. PROS Tequila toast Primo restaurant Non front desk staff is very friendly Grounds are nice with signs of some maintenance issues CONS Self Parking - distance from room at a cost Towels are scratchy, abrasive and discolored Lack of Platinum benefits Front desk staff Tennis court surface - sport court
