This past week was an immersive boot camp for me on the state of human capital management in India. I had the privilege of keynoting two events - TechHR 2014, India's first HR Tech Conference in

There is personal pride I take in this particular #SAPJam customer story that dates back many years before i joined SAP. I've lamented since 2008 on my blog that those customers who don't get excited by the shiny were just ignoring the entire conversation around social collaboration. When I see a customer rooted in a heartland industry such as manufacturing getting value from the technology, I feel really good. This is the true promise that got lost in all the feel good banter.

Very user friendly as well! Anyone in this age of social media, and has a feeling for "feeds", well, SAP Jam is something that you should definitely consider. Especially, if having a Mellinial talent, or planning to recruit more.

If "consumerizaton of IT" is about Enterprise Applications then Government-ization of IT should be the benchmark for Big Data. Some thoughts on what PRISM tells us about Big Data and the impact on Cloud economics.

Sorry for being late at the party but, as some may have noticed, I've been involved in a kind of wifi testing event abroad these last days :) .

I'm obviously in and I'm sure that +Emanuele Quintarelli will find another nugget for us.

One of my favorite posts by +Andrew McAfee  ever.
Humans face a huge conflict of interest when it comes to judging the validity of big data. Arguably the biggest conflict of interest in recent (information technology transformation) history. Big data and the algorithms that come with it threatens the very raison d' etre for many that make a living off it.

He's referenced some incredible stats here that show how relying on algorithms completely, without human interpretation and massaging has led to almost visceral comments on the post that goes to show how defensive we are to even entertain this idea that algorithms on their own might be superior.

Big Data is a largely geeky conversation and we havent been able to humanize the value proposition. Im starting to think that its us humans who as both judge and jury, that are the problem in the humanizing part. :)
