Islam-Khodja was the main vizier of Khiva khanate during the reign of Muhammad Rahim-Khan in the 19th and 20th centuries. He built this complex that bears his name, consisting of the smallest madrassah and the highest minaret in Khiva (57m), crowning an ancient "Ichan Kala".

Hodja Nasreddin - the wise man on the donkey, the favorite hero of the Central Asia fairy tales. So many stories about him, but we will tell you the one.
"One day Hodja lost his donkey. Spending a whole day searching, frustrated Nasreddin made a solemn oath to Allah that if he only can find “this damned donkey” - he will immediately sell it for 1 Tanga (penny). And then he saw it.
The next day at the market all saw Hodja, who was standing with his donkey and a cat. On the question of what he was doing, Nasreddin replied, that his donkey sells just for 1 Tanga and cat for 100, but only together... "

Tash-Khovli Palace - The summer residence of the Allakuli Khan, ruler of Khiva, was built in the 19th century. In its composition -163 rooms, 3 courtyards, one of which is the harem for the wives of the Khan. Columns, ceilings, walls - all coated with a unique ornamental patterns.
