Back in November, I'd promised myself I'd make 2015 the year I learned new skills that weren't related to writing (not directly anyway).
But it took this post (http://primility.com/new-here-resolution/

to make me realize that there wasn't a good reason to wait for January. Which is why I've spent December learning to:
. Thanks to Pinterest and the fact that I can never find clothes that fit me well, this is more by necessity than anything else. The spawn is in seventh heaven because I'm learning through small projects that I sew and pass on to her.
. It started with my wish to create personalized gifts for friends and family. +Canva
has been a huge help and inspiration but now I'm getting slightly more ambitious.
- Write a children's story
. This wasn't in the plan but God bless friends who want to do random creative activities. The story itself isn't anything to write home about but it rhymes so that's something.
. Apparently my fingers only know how to write and my brain can only imagine words. I can't draw to save my life. I started with copying doodles I liked online to learn basic shapes and can now draw illustrations by looking at them. I might never be able to draw through imagination alone, but at least I'll learn enough to create rudimentary stuff.
2015 will no longer be the year I learn new things. Instead it's going to be the year in which I do more and procrastinate less. Write more and read less. Create more and worry about it being any good less.
