I have read all the books and I still found that useful (in part b/c I read them like 2 yrs ago and in part b/c I didn't study the maps so the geographical layout was never fully clear to me).  Great link... thanks.

The punchline:  "We need a well-designed API, as simple as possible to make it hard for people to use it incorrectly. And we need multiple independent quality implementations of that API, so that if one turns out to be crap, people can switch to a better one in a matter of hours."

Absolutely.

Potential feature bug in Google Now?

+Arianna Johnson was trying to look up the location of a secret lunch place for us to go today. Problem? She did it on my laptop logged in as me, which gave Google Now the data to conveniently display said time to exact location on my phone.

If you want a yummy muffin but don't want to put in the effort of measuring and combining several ingredients, just grab a pint of vanilla ice cream and some self-rising flour.

Made this tonight with +Arianna Johnson. Had an in-house date night. It actually looked better than this (but we added tomato slices & sun dried tomatoes to it as well). Can't complain, came out way better than I was expecting!

My girlfriend and I have been here quite a few times already. Food (especially the bread and sandwiches) is consistently great quality, matched by the quality of the service staff. It's a bit smaller than Pamela's next door (which, by the way I heard is owned by the same person?), but we've rarely seen this place packed, though there are consistently people in there. Admittedly, we've only ever been here for lunch, so maybe that's part of it. The price of the food will look a bit high (especially in comparison to Pamela's), but you get a lot of food! I rarely have been able to finish the sandwiches and on occasion we either just split a sandwich or end up eating a late dinner so I suggest coming here hungry and ready to chow down. As I said before, the food is amazing, and their menu is known for taking traditional sandwiches and changing the ingredients to make it a bit more "kosher", though I am not sure they are entirely kosher (e.g., the Jewbano is a nice play on the traditional Cubano). The bread they use for their sandwich is excellent and not that dry-crusty stuff you get at some of the sub places around in Squirrel Hill (not to name any 'smallmans'). Nu is still "new", and I think people still don't quite know about it yet (it seems they are relying more on word of mouth and walkbys right now), but I really hope Nu becomes a static part of the Squirrel Hill restaurant scene.

Great service and their technicians do great work. I live in Pittsburgh and go out of my way to get my CR-V serviced here (instead of going to Shadyside Honda, which is much closer, but has terrible reviews). The service team explain everything thoroughly and always give you a few options to any issue you're having with your car (also explaining your options, and never pressuring you to take the higher priced one). A few times I've had to go to places closer by for simple oil changes and even then the quality and experience of those alternatives never matches what I get when I go to Dean Honda. Also their new location is updated/modernized compared to their last location. It's a bit further of a drive for me than it used to be and a little bit harder to get to because of the traffic around Century Mall III, but I haven't regretted it yet. I'll continue going to here in the future.

Great "neighborhood" bar. My girlfriend and I go often here (maybe about once every week or so). The food isn't great, it's bar food, but the beer selection is awesome, and the drafts change weekly and often match the season/weather, which is exciting I think for people who come here often. Lots of brewery's come out here for promotional gigs, and you can get free stuff from them usually. Caveats: This is a place where you should come with the mindset to unwind and relax, drink a beer or two and eat some food, talk with some friends for a couple hours before going home. We often see local families bringing children here... seems like a weird place to bring children, but a lot of families do it, so I think that speaks to the friendliness/openness of the bar. I've never seen the bar tenders or waiting staff treat customers negatively like some of the reviews here indicate, but then again, they treat all the regulars pretty well, and most of us know that this isn't a place where you come to get a quick bite. A certain amount of patience is required on busy nights, especially on game nights or fridays when this place gets packed.
