I decided just to do a mock-up of what I think it would look like on my screen's resolution. I must say, despite this being "new" in the sense of a brand new OS idea, this would feel wonderfully natural. What do you think?

My reason for picking a DOCK over a SIDEBAR is simply this:
As stated before, it makes adding multi-monitor support easier, as you can have one on the left or right, and nothing attached to the side gets in the way.
ALSO, in other countries where they read from right to left, you don't have to redesign the whole environment. It makes sense really when thinking about future translations for other languages.

+Sam Horne Yes. It would be confusing when having to work with multiple apps. That's why I mentioned Tinted Status bar only in maximized state of app. And during other times the status bar gets it's tint from dominant colour of wallpaper. I remember Elementary OS already doing that wallpaper tint thing. It may help this project

Can I just say that this project makes me extremely excited, but the idea of having any sort of UI fixed to the left or right side of the screen makes it really hard for multi-monitor setups. Having a dock on the bottom is a lot more neutral, especially in other countries where they read from right to left. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!

+Niko Lowry  Yes! Nothing wrong with having it on the side if you prefer it that way, so it should be able to accommodate that.

+Samriddha Basu Thanks! Ha.

I have the A7r, but just sometimes seeing something like this makes me question whether I should have bought an A7s... Just in case you're wondering, this is Tokyo at night.

What’s going to happen is, you’re going to have trouble finding distribution. In general, when you’re doing films like that, the ones that are critical, those aren’t going to be studio films anyway. Most of the movies that got us in trouble, we started out by raising the money independently. But to distribute, you’ve got to go to a studio, because they’re the ones that distribute movies. The truth is, you’re going to have a much harder time finding distribution now. And that’s a chilling effect. We should be in the position right now of going on offense with this. I just talked to Amy an hour ago. She wants to put that movie out. What do I do? My partner Grant Heslov and I had the conversation with her this morning. Bryan and I had the conversation with her last night. Stick it online. Do whatever you can to get this movie out. Not because everybody has to see the movie, but because I’m not going to be told we can’t see the movie. That’s the most important part. We cannot be told we can’t see something by Kim Jong-un, of all f*cking people.

Here is a rough idea for multitasking when you alt+tab. It's like a deck of cards; as you tab, the card on the right slides into the centre, and the previous card shuffles itself underneath the others on the left. Ideally, it loops (just an opinion!), and is scrollable.

As you can see, I wasn't particularly inventive with the open apps, but it is showing 5 windows of the Files app, and in this mode, the corresponding app icon lights up on the dock to signify which app is showing, a la elementary.

It's all quite self-explanatory really, but if you have any questions, fire away. I also added my own cursor idea in there just for fun. Let me know what you think guys!
