Today, I refactored +Daniel Foré's coloured emotes–remember when emoji were called emoticons, gang?–in the elementary icon set to create their symbolic counterparts plus a few extras

I had a (bad) t-shirt idea for folks really into source code management.

I've been hacking on my Ubuntu post-install script set (since I'm back on an Ubuntu-based distro) and I didn't realize this project has been going for over 4 years.

I wasn't super involved in the development of AppCentre (biggest thing I did was make the icon) and I haven't had a real chance to use it (since I was running a different distro at the time it was launched) but I have now I think all the folks that worked on it have done a great job and I think it has real potential.

Out of curiosity, do you dual boot on your primary machine? What is the setup:

I don't dual-boot.

Regardless of my opinion's of system76's new endeavours with their own Linux distro, it really does annoy me that there's always a portion of the community that crawls out to nay-say any new project.

The same folks who would (and probably did) say back in the day "what's the point of this 'ubuntu' project making a Debian-based OS?!!1" and "ew why is it brown?!!" –as if the start of something is supposed to be so completely different and offer a bunch of new features from the get-go.

Free software is at its best when it's diverse, otherwise we risk forcing out potentially new ideas and alienating people.

So let's let system76 do their thing and see what happens.
