Really disturbed by this.
This beautiful video's message is about tolerance, peace, and love but ironically inspires ignorance, hate, and vitriol from so man (in the comments). How do people jump from seeing people of all races, religions, and sexes loving each other to people loving animals and corpses? Or pedophilia?
Your hearts are either burnt and blackened or you're hiding some horrible things that have happened in your lives. Or maybe you just need a little love yourself. There is so much real tragedy in daily life - why add so much unnecessary hate to it?

One of the battles The Friendship Bench was created to fight is the silence that all too often prevents students suffering with heightened anxiety, loneliness, and depression from seeking the assistance they need.

Despite educational institutions investing time and money into mental health resources, the number of students attempting or succeeding at suicide is increasing.

#YellowIsForHello
There are many common misconceptions about suicide. The Friendship Bench shares some of the most common misconceptions about suicide in this post.

If you need a topic generator or a list of suggested blog titles, maybe you're doing it wrong? Or maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be blogging at all.
Your Blog Should Not Require A Topic Generator. If it does, maybe you should be blogging?

All is not "fine," despite what you my hear people say.  Listen, don't judge. Depression is real and taking too many lives. #BellLetsTalk

Is the growing reliance on technology creating a generation of ineffective or less creative marketers?  Today's debate over at Sensei.

What do you think?

Global News did a feature on The Friendship Bench last night. Happy to get the word out there about this organization's efforts to connect students suffering with #depression  to the people that can help them.

Glad to see this movement, Sam. Sadly, we share more than our interest in influence marketing. My teenage son took his life in 2011. I can only imagine your pain.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

Conversations Over a Child's Grave

From first kiss to first break up, college application to job interview, we parents tend to plan for every situation, every conversation we'll have with our kids -- except for one.

Is brand-consumer engagement on Facebook a myth?
Does your business really need to be there?

Thoughts?
Your Business Doesn’t Need A Facebook Page. The customer relationships promised aren’t always available in these large social networks.

Behind these eyes ...
My story of grief and coming to terms with the loss of my son.
Hoping this will help others in a similar situation.

For those suffering like I am, I hope knowing my experience will let you know you're not alone. What others call courage may simply be a barricade erected by your mind to help you keep it all together while supporting your loved ones, and that's OK. ...

Been my doctor for a number of years now. Listens, has great empathy, excellent knowledge, and never rushes me.

This is not a hair cut but an experience. Expert and personable master barbers have been providing me hair cuts and shaves for years. I drive 30 -40 mins (sometimes an hour with traffic) to get here and would go no where else. The support staff is equally incredible - from scalp massages/treatments to the hot towel and mini manicure/hand massage to the espresso that caps off the experience...highly recommended. Great place for groomsmen party/treatment and/or VIP events.

Food is unique and quality. Had the charred Red Pepper soup and daily pizza - both are good value for price. They expect a tip when you pre-pay...without knowing what service you'll get. Not sure I'd return however - you're asked to wait in line to order your food (I waited 15 mind to order) and then had to go circle the small seating area playing musical chair with others who ordered to get a table. Great food but too much work.

Visited a number of times. Food is generally good quality although portions are smaller than most other sushi restaurants in Oakville. Limited menu also. Nothing really new or innovative. Waitresses seem to really struggle with English so a few times I've just taken what I was brought, even thought it was not what I ordered...just to save myself the trouble. Tonight I ordered their "Teriyaki Dinner Special" which is advertised to include teriyaki, tempura, California roll, salad, soup for $17. I paid $17 but got the "Teriyaki Dinner" which doesn't include the tempura or California roll. When I questioned it, I was told you need to say "Bento box dinner, so it's your fault." Bento box is not listed ANYWHERE on the big signs at the front that advertise the special. I asked about this and she repeated: "It's your fault." I left, never to go back. I recommend Ami Sushi, Mye and Mye 2 in Oakville. Better service, larger menus and similar pricing.
