#SelfPortraitSunday #Vintage
Please join in today's Self Portrait Sunday with a vintage theme.
If you have nothing better to do, you can also read my rant about Apple and Keynote...
Don't you sometimes long for the days before technology?!
</Begin Rant> I am so angry with APPLE right now about Keynote and Bluetooth. I just spent a useless 1 hr and 45 minutes on the phone with them trying to connect to Keynote on an ipad with a bluetooth remote. This comes after 2 x 30+ minute help chats with them last week that was escalated today to supervisor status. All of Apple's Keynote help pop-ups and online docs suggest you can use an ios device as a remote on another iOS device using bluetooth. NOT TRUE! Nor can you use a third party remote. The first help person last week said it is not possible to connect two iOS devices via bluetooth, that you need to get a third party remote. So I shelled out on a third party remote. This did not work either so I was trying to get help about that today, or find out what bluetooth device it is that actually can control key note. Today I was finally put through to a Supervisor from the Keynote team. She seemed wonderful. She went through everything to try and get my iphone to control my ipad over bluetooth. She ran diagnostics, took over my screen, etc etc, for 90 minutes. She couldn't get my iphone to connect with my ipad over bluetooth. And, oh, she told me, now she's done some tests and read the manuals, actually, despite what help person #1 told me, a 3rd party bluetooth remote can NOT be used to control keynote via blue tooth. Sorry about that, sorry we gave you misinformation and you wasted your money on purchasing that remote you don't need. So, I go through all this stuff this morning and she can't solve it so she puts me through to the iOS supervisor. who in about 2 minutes tells me. It's simply not possible to pair 2 iOS devices over blue tooth. Sorry you wasted your time and money and were given incorrect information. This makes we want to scream. Why does everything on Keynote recommend bluetooth remotes, the menus, the documentation, the warning messages when it is not even possible. What on earth are they thinking? Do not they have room even for QA (Quality Assurance) in their 28 million square feet Doughnut Office? I can't believe this made it through QA. It's total incompetence. PS. I have used Apple since Apple classics in the 80s and I am as loyal as they come and probably will remain so, since PCs have irked me plenty enough in the past. But this is just ludicrous. And on top of that I updated to Sierra on my imac this morning and I can no longer access one of my drives. Grrr. Now I have to spend the next goodness knows how long of today sorting out that. PS If anyone wants to buy a barely used Satechi BT Media Remote from me, please let me know. I will now be doing the presentation using an old fashioned CABLE. </end rant> Self Portrait Sunday's theme today is vintage, and right now, I can tell you, I am feeling somewhat nostalgic for times before tech...

If you'd like to, you can also share your image on the FB SPS Event. Check the FB ASP page for details: FB ASP Page: www.facebook.com/artofselfportraiture

It doesn't take too much effort to start getting creative, photoshop not needed, I was doing some experimentation for a job yesterday and ended up reflecting on this screamy self portrait from the session...

Yesterday, SURJ Bay Area (Showing Up for Racial Justice) held a vigil and protest in Rockridge, Oakland in honor of Trans Women and Trans Feminine.
We are just three months into 2017, and already at least eight transgender women of color have been murdered. Their names are Chyna Dupree, Ciara McElveen, Jaquarrius Holland, Mesha Caldwell, Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow, Keke Collier, Alphonza Watson, and Jojo Striker. Here are some of my pictures of the event.
