Before the age of the internet and online shopping, people actually went to a place of business to purchase items.

The National City Mile of Cars has been serving San Diego for more than 60 years. “The Mile” is located in National City, just south of San Diego and north of the Tijuana-Mexican Border. The mile-long stretch of National City Boulevard features 5,000 cars and 20 brands. The Mile for the longest time was the center of California's car culture.

I have driven by this sign numerous times since I live in the South Bay and always had in the back of my mind to photograph this urban neon sign. The other night as I was driving by I saw a nice sunset, but I didn't have time to head to the beach, so I pulled over and made this long exposure photograph.

I finally captured a colorful, dramatic sunset with water reflections at the J Street Marina in Chula Vista the other night. We haven't had many great sunsets here in San Diego of late (although sunset season is right around the corner) and the ones we have had, I always seem to miss.

"America’s living symbol of freedom"

I have been meaning to make this composition for quite some time now. A couple of years ago I was an annual member to the USS Midway and would visit the floating museum very often. It was fun just to explore the ship and learn about the history of the longest serving American aircraft carrier of the 20th century.

Twilight view of the USS Midway (CV-41). The Midway was an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy and the first to be commissioned after the end of World War II. It was active in the Vietnam War and in Operation Desert Storm. USS Midway is currently a museum ship at the USS Midway Museum in downtown San Diego, California.

The Gilbert Arizona temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a very impressive structure and a local architectural landmark. It stands at 195 feet tall and encompasses over 85,000 square feet. It was built over a period of three years and was opened in 2014.

Falling in love with Guanajuato, it´s easy!

A twilight view of Guanajuato from the Pipila Monument. The Pipila Monument offers the best view of this spectacular city anytime of the day, but watching the city light up at night is something special.

With its amazing places full of color and history, its warm atmosphere of peace and tranquility, and the beautiful people, you’ll feel that your dreams are coming to life. Perhaps this is why UNESCO has named Guanajuato a World Heritage Site.

The San Diego-Coronado Bridge you see in the background connects the city of San Diego to the city of Coronado. It spans two miles long over the San Diego Bay and reaches a maximum height of 200 feet allowing U.S. naval ships to pass underneath.

The dinghy you see in the foreground are small boats used by “live-aboards” (people who live full time on their sail boats) to row back and forth from their sail boats to shore to run errands.

I do have to say for those living at the foot of the San Diego-Coronado Bridge it must have its benefits: charming views of downtown San Diego, being close to marine life, views of the bridge itself and of course cheap rent.
