It's unfortunately you left Portland though.  That place will change you.  I guess we won't be seeing you at the Green Dragon anytime soon, huh? :-)

Your link didn't quite work, but I did read your profile.  Sounds pretty interesting.  BTW I am a former director of the GNOME Foundation (http://www.gnome.org/) and Free Software, Social Justice, and other assortments are good collab.  If you have ideas on collaboration on two perceivable orthagonal areas, I would be interested.

A report late last year by the International Energy Agency said that the fossil fuels industry collects $550 billion a year in global government subsidies. That compares with about $120 billion for renewable energy, including wind, solar and biofuels, according to the Paris-based institution.

Sam my families Irish roots are a bit older than yours but I too am proud of the Irish, a vote that I certainly wouldn't have expected even 5 years ago.

I heard you bumped into Stephanie Rust from ISC recently. I enjoyed meeting her here in Dhaka last month where I briefed her on what we were doing in Portland to develop the connections between sustainability and resilience.
