With many children going back to school today, be cautious of your surroundings when driving. Here are a few more tips!

1. Be cautious of children on bicycles, especially ones coming from behind parked cars, out of driveways, or from other obstructions that may be blocking their view.
2. Pedestrians usually have the right-of-way at all intersections, take extra caution and do not block crosswalks.
3. Children are unpredictable pedestrians. Make sure to watch out for them in school zones AND residential areas.

It's almost back to school time! Here are a few safety tips for motorists sharing the roadway with school buses:

1. Never pass a school bus on the right. Not only is it dangerous, it is also illegal.
2. Did you know the area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous place for children to be hit by a vehicle? Play it safe and stop your vehicle far enough away to provide children the space they need to safely enter or exit the bus.
3. Always be alert. Be aware of the flashing yellow lights on a school bus. This means it is getting ready to stop. Red flashing lights and an extended stop sign arm mean that the bus is loading or unloading children.

Do you have any safety tips to add?
