At The Salvation Army, 83 cents of every dollar is used to directly support programs and services. Our supporters have become part of a network of thousands of Northern California residents who donate their time, money and talents to the work of The Salvation Army. We thank you for your generosity and your support for our mission.

THE Salvation Army is helping people to rebuild their homes in a remote region of Bangladesh. The Rangamati Hill Tracts, a tribal farming area on the border with India, was until recently unreached by The Salvation Army. However, when hundreds of people lost their lives and countless more lost homes and livelihoods in a freak landslide in 2017, the Bangladesh Command responded without hesitation, putting forward proposals which have now been agreed to by local authorities.

When disaster strikes, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) rolls into action — offering cold drinks, hot meals, and compassion to both victims and first responders. And in the long term, we remain committed to help — providing food, clothing, shelter, and a plan for real recovery.

RUNNING from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 March 2018, an exciting worldwide event is intended to recognise and develop the role of children and young people in fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20). Taking the theme ‘Shine!’, the weekend will encourage younger members of The Salvation Army to take the lead in reaching their communities with the love of God.

In California, 1 in 6 people struggle with hunger. The 2012 Hunger Index shows that there were 204 million missing meals—mealtimes when children, families, and seniors went hungry in Santa Clara County and San Mateo County. With excess food to feed our communities, no one should go hungry in Silicon Valley. It’s not about producing more, it’s about wasting less.
