I have been going to Sakura for years and I honestly never had a problem with them until quite recently (about a year or so). Ever since recently their service has been utterly crap. Both times I have been here we have not been even acknowledge by a waiter or waitress until 15 mins after we have been seated. Like come on, you guys don't even have that many tables at this place. I've been a server before it's not that hard. This last time I went we spent 3 hours waiting on sushi that is "backed up" I say that because the restaurant eventually died down and I was still wondering why I was waiting on a roll I ordered over an hour ago. I believe that if you provide good service you will receive a nice tip at least from me, but if you don't I'm not obligated to give you anything. Apparently, they don't feel that way so they had the audacity to add their own tip to my bill. Don't go here. This place, which was once really good, has turned to crap and it's really sad that it had to come to this.

Server was a little too casual and nonchalant when we realized we had an uninvited guest at the table (a roach) the miso soup was ok, didn't stay for sushi rolls obviously...

Good food but don't bother trying to call them to put in an order. They never seem to pick up. Guess they don't want business

I have been to Sakura plenty of times. Recently, I used my credit card to pay for my bill and left a CASH tip. A couple of days later I checked my credit card statement and noticed that my credit card had been charged an additional amount meaning the waiter pocketed the cash tip AND WROTE AN ADDITIONAL tip on my receipt!! I decided to give them another chance and was very disappointed. The waitress was extremely rude and unreceptive to anything that my bf or I had to say. My edamame was FROZEN and my bf and I got our meals 20 minutes apart. -very unsatisfied former customer

Well I have been trying to experience this place for the last 2 years. They were closed last year on my birthday. (Halloween) And I prefer lunch to dinner time This year I made it. On Fri & Sun they have a all you can eat sushi deal. 20 bucks good deal if you like sushi Me I am ok with it.. I am a carnivore . So Lets start with what I liked. The beer, Kirin , ($4.95)was cold. Salad ,tasty ginger dressing & cold. AHH now the real deal. Upon entering it was very dark. It took 10 minutes to become accustom to the room. After being told to sit anywhere, I timed it, It was ten minutes before I was asked what I 'd like to drink & another 5 minutes for a menu. There was seven tables filled and 3 waitresses. I order the filet mignon lunch. Steak house right. I was served a fresh mushroom miso. It was good but it was a step above luke warm in temperature. Salad as stated above was good. My entree' more mushroom than filet mignon. The veggie, edamane ,was basically RAW. I tried 3 different bites all stringy no taste. The fried rice tasted ok BUT it was VERY wet. Maybe Japanese style is wet but Chinese style I KNOW is fried and drier..( 30 years in San Francisco eating in Chinatown) Then at the end on the bill there was a automatic 18% charge for gratuity. I do not recall seeing this issue unless it was written in micro script. Over all in a word this place suck for me. If I have a hankering for sushi I may be back, but no time in the near future.

Attempted to go to this restaurant while on vacation for the Friday lunch special. The website stated they were open 11-2 for lunch. We arrived at noon and they were closed. VERY disappointed.

Terrible experience. Had the owner tell me he would not honor a coupon I had received for being a VIP customer. Hassled my mother and I for over 10 minutes. Tried to get us to order something else to make up for the free roll. Asks us to leave if we were not going to buy something else. I will NEVER go back. The owner obviously does not understand customer satisfaction.
