We'd like to share the staying healthy tip our Employee Health Services Department just shared with our staff.

To be active and get the most benefits from walking, aim to take between 7,501 steps a day to 10,000 steps a day.
How many miles walked does that equal?

10,000 steps equals approximately 5 miles walked.

The Saint Peter's Urgent Care Center will open at 4:00 PM today. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We are proud to be the only hospital to earn a top grade of "A" for patient safety in the Spring 2016 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Score.
Not only was Saint Peter’s the only hospital in New Brunswick and in Middlesex County to receive an “A” safety grade, only 23 of the nearly 70 hospitals statewide earned an “A.” Among the 2,571 hospitals studied nationwide, only 798 earned an “A.”
Congrats Dr. Tracy Vitale, Mgr, MFM Research @ #SaintPetersUH who graduated yesterday w her Doctorate Rutgers University

I was at the hospital for one night stay on April 21 through April 22, 2016. I must say I was extremely impressed with the service and the nurses on staff. Ms. J who was the registered nurse who took care of me on the night I was admitted was a very helpful woman. She really made sure I was cleaned and got my rest. Diana was a sweetheart she was very helpful and was on point with all of my requests. I can't forget AJ who came by to mop the floor to make sure I did not slip and fall not once but twice!! Everyone at this hospital really took pride to make me comfortable and make sure I was taken cared of. Loved, loved, loved the staff and the hospital!

I am currently 34weeks pregnant an I was having complications which caused me t I believe I may have been going into early labor... They put me in a labor and deliver y room that was completely disgusting. The bathroom faucet was molding.. The wooden cabinets were old and chipping and the couch for my partner had a hole in it... It was completely nasty and uncomfortable.. Plus they were doing some constructing in the halls .. It was an unsanitary environment and I am second guessing myself on delivering my baby here

Our baby daughter was born in St Peters last september. It was such a good experience. They have very caring nurse at the delivery center. The nurse we had stayed over for about 1 extra hour to make sure everything is done properly, baby was born just right after her shift.

we had our 1st baby delivered at this hospital. The bill was $104,000 for the mother and child. It was a c-session and for 2 days they kept the baby in observation for nothing ( all the report was negative, still they gave doses of antibiotics). When i fought with the head doctor in NICU, they discharged the baby quickly and said everything is fine with the baby. If the hospital see you have insurance they will charge your insurance the highest amount. Stand your ground, when they suggest you different treatment. If you question about your bill and treatment, there is no proper response. You will get standard, pre-recorded reply. dont waste your time fighting with this corporation.

My brother (certified radiologist ) did an internship there and he loved the respect of the hospital staff. My dad did his radiation there over 30 years ago and is still here at 93 years old. My Aunt just had surgery. Thank God for the support of doctors and staff! God Bless Each of You!

I had my first child here. For the most part I had a very good experience. My night nurse was so sweet. She did everything to make me comfortable. My labor and delivery nurse during the day was doctor was not so nice and the nurse kept making sure I was ok. She said your doing a great job. Her name is Bernadette. She is the best nurse ever. When I got to the floor after delievery the lactation consultant made me cry cause she said I was staving my baby. She did come and apologize the next morning but after u say that to someone it is hard to get over. For the most part the hospital was great.

I went to St. Peters through the Emergency room. I was in unbearable pain and needed surgery. I have panic disorder so a hospital is the last place I want to be! Everyone there was friendly and understanding. The nurses treated me like a friend... not just a patient. I thanked each one of them because I know how demanding their job is and how frustrating it is when their is a difficult patient. The food was good and could be ordered at anytime. Place was clean and I had comfortable rooms. I am beyond happy with all they did for me!

The staff were very friendly, but that was overshadowed by their lackadaisical attitudes and lack of sense of urgency. I believe this may be attributed to their desensitization of crisis, which is necessary in addressing emergency situations. I took my infant son to the hospital with a 103 temp. We waited over 3 hours to see a doctor. He stated that my son only needed a asthma treatment because he was wheezing. Seemed like an emergency to me. However, we sat another 40 minutes before a nurse decides to conduct a breathing treatment on my son. I asked if perhaps there may be more going on, but was informed to just take him home and give him Tylenol and Motrin. Left the hospital at 2:30 am and my son returned that same day at 10:00 am with the same symptoms. We were informed that my son has an ear infection, and so he was provided with antibiotics. He is currently doing a little better. However, I am very baffled why the ear infection wasn't detected at the first visit. I told my wife that we would were going to be back to the hospital because if they sent us home we'd return and they'd get paid twice for the problem that wasn't addressed at the first visit. This type of irresponsible and unethical behavior needs to be monitored by NJ Consumer Affairs.
