The Humble Statesman

Today we are observing the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth (February 12, 1809). It is considered a legal holiday in some U.S. states.

Shri Mataji has often mentioned the greatness of America's 16th president. Speaking of Lincoln, Shri Mataji said: "Everyone ... an American ... should think of Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln believed that everybody must have freedom. And that government should be for the public, for the people. Whatever he talked, he practiced. Whatever he believed in he worked it out, and he gave his life for it. That's why he's a great man." Lincoln - a 'Realized soul' - was born with a deep spiritual nature that he reflected throughout his life through his display of humility, simplicity, humor, diplomacy, sweetness, compassion, and a sense of collectivity and equality.

We Stand with CVS - for a Healthier You!

It's not a surprise. We've heard it all before. Smoking and good health just don't go hand in hand. Well, yesterday, CVS put their money where their mouth is, and announced it will end tobacco sales in order to fully promote a healthy lifestyle because selling cigarettes while promoting wellness just doesn't make sense. "Ending the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products at CVS/pharmacy is the right thing for us to do for our customers and our company to help people on their path to better health," Larry J. Merlo, president and CEO of CVS Caremark, said in a statement.

And if you need more help to kick the habit, regular Sahaja Meditation sessions can help people give up unhealthy habits by awakening our Inner Energy and clearing out specific energy centers. It also gives you joy, satisfaction and piece. And unlike cigarettes, Sahaja is budget friendly - classes are absolutely FREE all over the world. Imagine how much you can save and how many things you can do choosing a long healthy life with Sahaja Meditation!

Queen’s Elizabeth II speech mentions Meditation – a time to reflect!

2013 Christmas Day address by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II watched by millions throughout the UK and the Worldwide Commonwealth dwelt on the theme of ‘a time for reflection’.

Taking time out to reflect, ponder, take stock, consider and weigh things up, is something that sounds good on paper but often we are out-paced by everyday ‘life events’ and fail to be able to set time aside to do so. Then there is the New Year’s Resolution list too, which we might compile and refer to then put down and forget.

As Queen Elizabeth expressed it in her 2013 Christmas Day speech: ‘As for all people of faith, reflection, meditation & prayer help us to renew ourselves in God’s love as we strive daily to become better people.’ It may not seem surprising, but it is remarkable that the Queen referred to the term ‘meditation’. Just twenty years ago such a simple thing might have been highly unlikely, yet it indicates how society is evolving it’s capacity to embrace concepts, ideas and practices which have been traditionally less well represented in our “Western” cultures.

With Sahaja Yoga Meditation free classes the door is always open for everyone to explore how to meditate and what is meditation.

Many years ago the Queen had occasions to meet Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, here is one such picture.

She Dedicated Her Life to Humanity

She was a visionary willing to share her view of a better world that includes a place for each of us, side by side, as one. She was also the founder of Sahaja Yoga, a unique meditation technique and a worldwide movement in over a 100 countries. Sahaja Yoga Meditation is the practical application of her vision.

Unlike many other visionaries, Shri Mataji had a practical solution to turn her vision into reality. Her experience was deep. From her days in the ashram of Mahatma Gandhi to her nation’s fight for freedom, she showed that she very much understood this world. She knew who we were and where we were going. She knew our culture better than we do, our souls and our dreams. In short what she offered was something very simple. This something is Self-Realization.

In 1970 Shri Mataji discovered a technique to trigger the awakening of the primordial Inner Energy within each human being. Since then, She traveled extensively to educate and enlighten people all over the world. Her unique discovery has already transformed millions of lives and many more transformations are to come.

Shri Mataji's humanitarian and spiritual work draws admiration not only from countless individuals across the globe who have personally benefited from her teachings, but also from governments, dignitaries, educational institutions and organizations. She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize twice and received The UN Peace Medal, in addition to having a large number of other international awards and recognitions.

Enlightenment, attainment and vision are not just the property of the distant past, nor the promise of a remote future.

One day promises have to be fulfilled. We cannot always live in the realm of future hope. As Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi would say, "It can all happen now".
