#autoawesome

This is how awesome Google+ photos has become. I took the top three photos, and the "Auto Awesome" technology (http://goo.gl/JPf15) auto-magically created the panorama in the bottom.

Subtle things to note:
1. I took these photos without any panoramic intentions, hence the tops of the original photos are not aligned.
2. In my original album, the middle photo was actually taken last, so it wasn't an obvious chronological stitch, but the algorithms figured it out anyway.
3. +Jayna Patel, the leftmost girl in the third photo is smiling in the middle photo but not in the third; the panorama chose the smiling face.
4. My finger covered the top-right of the first photo which makes alignment even more difficult. No sweat!

I cleaned up my circles and set my volume sliders, and my stream is now awesome; it's filled with posts from friends and people I actually care about.

This made me realize how wildly different everyone's experience with Google+ is. I went from a very impersonal stream full of celebrities and startup founders to something very personal and very interactive.

So if you're not getting what you want out of Google+, use the circle and volume sliders feature -- that's what it's there for! :)

Very insightful essay on the ordering of the Star Wars trilogies. I'm completely sold. I'm going to re-watch all the episodes in Machete Order.
Brace yourselves, what follows is an amazingly long blog post about Star Wars. I've already discussed how I'm not a huge fan of the various modifications made to the original Star Wars trilogy, so it'...

Horrendous service. They claimed my car would be done in 30-45 mins. It's been 2 hours and my car is still sitting in the lot, untouched. I don't mind that they're busy. But honesty would have been good- because of Wheel Works, I've had to flake on a meet-up that was much more important than mounting tires. Come here if you can drop off your car. Avoid if you have a life outside of sitting at mechanics shops.

This place was recommended by Rachele (Casa Rachele), with the tip to get anything local and that all the food was good. She was right. We had an incredible pasta and pizza here (preferred it to Napoli, even!). Just ask for whatever Alessandro recommends- you won't be disappointed!

This place is incredible and charming. The least of this is due to the fact that it's in a cave. Pepe and his wife are warm, friendly, and extremely talented: the ingredients are fresh (a lot of it from Pepe's farm), there is no menu (Pepe will describe what he can prepare for you), and the prices are very reasonable. Our conversation with Pepe was also memorable: he switched between Italian, English, some French, and excellent German. It was a pleasure meeting him. This has been, without a doubt, the best meal we've had in Italy. No joke. Don't skip this place.

Rachele was amazing! So warm and welcoming, and she helped us plan out our short stay in the area- complete with maps, directions, books, and example ticket stubs! Her recommendations for places and restaurants were on point. We had an amazing time in and around Piano because of her. Staying at Rachel's doesn't feel like a B&B at all- it feels like home. The place is cozy and clean, she sees you off when you step out, welcomes you back when you get home, and she prepares a great breakfast customized to you. All of this for about the same price as a private room in a hostel. Stay here!!

Average wines, but the views are spectacular, and I've heard great things about the food (though I didn't try any).
