Absolutely do not go to this hospital for a psychiatric assessment; DO NOT. I went to this hospital for a so-called assessment, and was made an utter fool. I was feeling desperately lonely and in despair. So, I went here. I was forced to strip naked, and thrown into a lonely cell for five hours alone with no one to talk to. When I finally demanded to leave, the entire ER staff condemned me, and my clothing was literally thrown at my feet. I am certain that the State was Bill for this visit, which was all this hospital wanted. This hospital wants only your money. This hospital does not give a damn about you. You have been warned.

My boyfriend went in to his general practitioner for minor GI issues and was admitted to this hospital on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, the GI Doctor promptly assessed the situation and told us that he would do some further tests. He wasn't clear about his course of action or disclosing information about the procedures. It seemed like you just had to take a leap of faith in a poorly ran staff with an even poorer chain of command, not to mention the lack of information shared. Almost as if not any of the doctors, nurses, or technicians could read a chart and properly act. On Day 3, after being delayed a whole day in the hospital on something that could've been done on an outpatient examination due to neglect on reading notes, nothing was accomplished. Day 4 they are finally able to do a series of CT scans and the doctor has all ready left by noon after saying the previous night that if the pain is manageable, the laxative had ran its course, and he could keep down solids that he could leave and be in touch after the results; however, he has to stay another night due to doctor's wishes with no answers as to why. I honestly think this hospital is obsolete and protocols are placed into effect to milk every dime of one's insurance money. Then one of the nurses had the audacity to claim that if we left against doctor's orders that insurance wouldn't cover it. If this is any representation of SSM hospitals, then it quite said. Better off going to a BJC hospital, for sure.

I went in for severe eye swelling and pain. Dr. Landry saw me. He barely even spoke to me. Seemed to be in a hurry. Says extra swelling is edema maybe from original antibiotic cream my primary prescribed yesterday. Then says he's going to prescribe a different topical and thats it. I complained to the nurse about him and how he seemed to be in a hurry. She goes out and tells him. He comes back in with attitude. Says I've been an ER doctor for 17 years how long have you been one? Ummm ok. The attitude and rudeness were beyond inappropriate to say the least. I'm looking at my discharge paperwork and there is no new antibiotic cream script. It says continue the cream I was originally prescribed.....I'm so confused. This was a terrible experience to say the least. He said he thinks swelling will subside in a few days..... seems to me he really doesn't know whats wrong and could really care less about my eye or the fact that it hurts. Hands down the absolute Worst ER experience ever. I'll never come back here again. EVER.

WORST ER EVER!!! 2 years ago it took them 4 hours to determine my mother had influenza. After 4 hours they run in and tell us to put masks on! She sat there and struggled to breathe for those 4 hours, and ended up having a mild heart attack because her heart was working so hard for her to breathe. Last night mom took my dad to the ER (which I told them numerous time NEVER go back there), the doc came in and said "I'll be back shortly, I have to tend to another patient first", well needless to say, he never came back to tend to my 84 year old father. Not sure where they hire these under qualified people from, but they need to look into it. Don't EVER take your family members there! The only way I could submit this is by checking a star, which I wouldn't even give them 1 star!!

My father was in there approximately 3 weeks ago. He was neglected by a young man that was working the third shift. My father needed his help with something and he never came back to help him. This was totally unprofessional and if I could rate this 0 stars I would. I will never go there and I will rip this place apart every chance that I get.

Took my 75 year old father came into their ER with upper abdominal pain, dizzyness( unable to walk on his own), weakness, unable to breathe a full breath of air. After almost 2 hours of waiting in the waiting area were were taken to the triage nurse who asked very detailing questions like "Is anybody hurting you and Do you have suicidal thoughts" after he said no to both of those questions and other condition revealing questions we were told their ER was full and we would have to wait out in the waiting area until a bed opened up. We immediately left and went to Barnes hospital in ST. Peters where they took him back immediately and put him on a EKG machine. Don't go to Lake St. Louis hospital if you have a life threatening condition you will probably die in the waiting room.
