Landsat is an ongoing series of satellites that has conducted Earth observations since 1972. Landsat 8 will launch in a few days. The first Landsat satellite - ERTS-1, seen below, was launched on July 23, 1972.

We know it's been already done days ago. So what's the point of this? Yet there has been a rapid weather change since the liftoff. Just hope there isn't something we all will have to pay for later. Oh wait we've got the biggest storm of the century coming right for us by said Sunday. NW and SE of USA as they hit somewhere in the middle good luck people.
bacj in 1967 my dad had to move away because the Feds annexed the land our home was on to build the HQ center for Landsat.
