After nearly 75 years in the same Nob Hill location, SMPC Architects has relocated its office to the top floor of the historic First National Bank building. Still loyal to Route 66, the shift down Central to the top floor of this iconic building offers SMPC expansive space and views, and contributes to the City’s mission of revitalizing downtown. The newly renovated space aligns with the culture and creative, transparent process the firm embraces. We are thrilled to be part of the vitality of downtown Albuquerque and welcome clients, colleagues and friends to our new workspace at 219 Central NW, Suite 800.

This vintage photo shows a view looking east along Albuquerque’s Central Avenue in 1936 highlighting the First National Bank Building. Constructed in 1922 and designed by Henry Charles Trost, this landmark was the tallest building in Albuquerque until 1954.

Yesterday at the state capitol building in Santa Fe, SMPC was recognized as a Gold 2018 Family Friendly Business. The Family Friendly Business Award recognizes businesses with family-centered policies for their employees. This is the second year in a row we've been awarded this distinction. Robynn Bell, Administrative Director and Peggy Favour, Principal were on the senate floor to receive the award. Robynn and the principals at SMPC make it a priority that our employees receive industry-leading health benefits, wellness programs, reasonable accommodations for medical needs, flexible work schedules, continuing education stipends, and competitive wages. We respect and applaud our values that include integrity, accountability, and quality of life.
