I bought a used Vespa from SF Moto and what followed was terrible. I will write a very short version because detailing all that happened would take thousands of words. Here is the short version. From the moment I drove off with my bike there were several problems. Each time I went into to fix a problem the bike came out with more problems. They literally were unable to fix what needed to be fixed and they damaged something else while they had the bike. Each time the bike was in for service I was promised that it would be done by a certain time and I would be update throughout. I was never updated a even a single time and I brought my bike in at least 6-8 times. When the work was done I was never notified each time, instead I had to call in and they would then tell me it was done. The worst problem of all was when the drive belt broke shortly after purchase. I was assured at purchase that all belts were in great condition and had thousands of miles left on them. According to two Vespa mechanics drive belts don't just break. The drive belt broke and SF Moto took a very long time to fix it. The moment I drove away from SF Moto after the repair my bike stalled. Two mins later the bike shut down. It was later found that their repair of the drive belt which should have never broke, destroyed my motor. Eric H. the owner, refused to refund my money and instead offered only to replace the motor with a similar motor. After a month of waiting I finally got the bike back in terrible condition. I cannot stand going back there anymore for anything. Each time they screw something else up and the owner has treated the entire matter unethically. Clearly I was lied to about the condition of the bike from the beginning and I continued to be treated terribly throughout. I tried to give Eric the benefit throughout but after the problems kept on persisting I realized the nature of the way he does business. Side note: When I later went to SF Vespa to purchase a new Vespa, I was told by the owner there that I was the third person that day (I was there at 1pm) that told a similar horror story about SF Moto. Apparently they are notorious in the scooter world of SF for screwing scooters up and ripping people off. I would stay away.

SF Moto has treated me very well over the last 14 years doing business there. The staff is customer service oriented, very friendly, and on the ball. They also have by far the best selection of new and used bikes in all of Northern California.

Absolutely love SFMoto. I came here as it was widely recommended by all my riding friends and was happy to see that they were the only Bay Area dealership that sold the SYM T2 250i. I had been stalking that bike at SFMoto for a good few months and they have never pressured me into buying or walking away with it until I was fully ready. Everyone on staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. One of the sales people was just stellar; she was my height and build and coached me through buying my first bike: what to look for, what to ask, which bikes were most friendly, what to know for people my height and build. Every time I have left SF Moto, I felt more confident about my purchasing choices and eventually bought my first bike from them. SF Moto is also CUDL approved (credit union direct lender) which made purchasing even easier. As I was the last sale of the night and before the weekend, I was impressed by how I did not feel rushed at any point. One of the people from Finance (Eric) even stayed after hours to help me shop insurance prices and another woman stayed later in the evening to give me and a friend a full bike orientation. After I dropped the bike, they were understanding and helped without making me feel stupid for dropping my bike. It was a great experience and I will definitely be an exclusive SF Moto customer for as long as I have my bike and continuously refer all friends in that direction.

The service people here are either immoral or incompetent. I brought my scooter in to tighten a loose rear brake handle. They told me that it might cost $95 for an hour if it took a full hour to diagnose and repair. When I left, I fully expected it to take 15-20min to remove the plastic covering to access the screw to tighten it, I simply didn't have tools/time/motivation to deal with personally.. The only way it took someone more than 30min is if they were incompetent. I have since learned that its even simpler to repair this type of looseness with an allen wrench without removing the the plastic covering at all.. If they were at all competent or experienced they would have known this, if they are experienced then they are immoral for charging me a full hour of work. tl;dr; go elsewhere unless you want to be ripped off.

I can only speak as a customer who came in for advice (so far) but these guys were insanely helpful AND enthusiastic about helping me find and understand gear for my first bike. I walked in thinking I would just peek around but an associate walked up and just started chatting with me and when I told him I was about to buy my first bike he and another guy spend almost an hour with me trying on gear and explaining all the differences between them and what to look for in gear! Granted, the store was not busy but for them to get excited about extending knowledge my way was super cool. I really appreciated it and will be going back to buy some stuff from them for sure!

After doing a lot of research, I zero'd in on getting a SYM HD200 Evo scooter. IMO it offers the best price/performance and lowest cost of ownership in its class, and it can keep up with traffic on 101. I quickly discovered that SFMoto is the SYM dealer for the San Francisco area, so that gave me great comfort knowing that I could get my SYM competently serviced there. But I noticed that several Yelp posters wrote some pretty bad reviews on SFMoto's service, and that gave me pause. I did not want to buy a SYM if I could not get it serviced well. So I sent an email to Eric, the founder and owner of SFMoto, inquiring about the poor reviews. Eric was gracious enough to respond to me with an explanation of the actions that he had taken since. Eric's response gave me confidence in SFMoto. I wanted to purchase a used SYM, since I just got my M1. I searched Craigslist for multiple weeks, but found the one that I wanted at an excellent price on SFMoto's online inventory. I visited SFMoto on a weekday and got Matt to help me out, and helpful and friendly he was. Although I had pretty much made up my mind, I wanted to get Matt's expert confirmation on my thoughts. I also took some time looking at the other scooter models that were on display before putting money down. I picked up my scooter the next day. The paperwork process with Maria in Finance went smoothly and was pretty fast. As my scooter was delivered to me at the back of the shop, I noticed the very large number of motorcycles and scooters that were parked outside (perhaps twenty to thirty) waiting to be serviced or to be picked up by their owners after servicing. It hit me on the head, that many, many customers place their faith in SFMoto for servicing. After picking up my scooter, I noticed that there were no license plates, although I did get the registration and title. I only assumed that plates would eventually arrive from DMV via mail. After a few weeks, I still had not received my plates so I contacted Maria in Finance. I learned from her that I should have received plates along with the scooter at the day of pickup. She offered that it must have been SFMoto's mistake and that she would take care of it including paying for any fees. SFMoto did just that, and now I have my plates. Since I purchased my SYM HD200 in around September, I have put on nearly 900 miles. The scooter has run flawlessly. I have taken it onto highways 280 and 101, and it keeps up with traffic moving at over 70 mph. I'm ecstatic that I've been getting over 70 mpg. Riding it is tremendous fun. I have done an oil change myself, which is simple. But I plan to bring it into SFMoto for any major maintenance or repairs. Also, I am now interested in getting a motorcycle. I am keeping an eye on SFMoto's inventory. Thank you SFMoto!

Very bad! We have seen multiple reviews of people having the same issue that we had. I dropped off my running scooter to have a tune up, when I called to pick it up they said it was no longer running and they pushed me hard to approve another hour for them to insect the scooter. An hour to fix a problem they created?? I told them no and that I was coming to pick it up myself. When I got there the scooter was running fine. They are very shady and should be avoided.

Found SF Moto in a local ad here in Sacramento. In reviewing their website, the pictures of the inventory of bikes looked really good to me so I’d figured I visit just to take a look. It was also a great reason to visit the city, and get out of the 108 degree heat that day. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. In looking at the inventory in person, I was please to find high quality motorcycles are very reasonable prices. Great selection, no pressure, and just great service by people that enjoy being there and with helping you find the right item. I can't recall having a more positive experience when making a significant purchase. I'll definitely be back to SF Moto because it’s well worth the trip. Major kudos to Tony; for his assistance, time, enthusiasm, knowledge, and referral for a great place to have lunch. I love the bike and it's great to be back riding! Cheers!
