The Google Play Games cloud save system for Earn to Die 2 is so, so good. This is what developers should do. Implement this exactly, please. If you don't, I will hate you.

What is it with business executives (especially in tech) thinking they should run for president? As far as I'm aware, Carly Fiorina's main claim to fame is that she ran HP into the ground and was forced to resign. I have no proof of this, but I feel like this is a ploy by Republicans to make their field of nominees look more "progressive." She's not stupid, so she must know she has zero chance. Allowing herself to be the token woman to make the old white guys look better is sad and disrespectful to viable female candidates.
Ms. Fiorina, a former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, used her private-sector background to differentiate herself in a packed Republican field.

She ran her organization into the ground? Sounds like a standard issue political candidate to me.

Status bar abuse, Lollipop edition

Why do Android OEMs insist on cluttering the status bar? I don't get it. Here are the big Android makers, all with the exact same things enabled (and on Lollipop). HTC, LG, and Samsung all take up at least half the screen width. HTC also insists on showing the LTE icon all the time. I don't know why. And that NFC icon, barf.

Look at how that all compares to the Nexus UI. Exact same stuff enabled, and it takes up less than half the space of the others. This is stupid.

The latest potential +Android Police post, added to the queue by +Artem Russakovskii, comes with a caveat. He's always working, even when he shouldn't be.

The M9's camera is just not very good. This is after the camera update. What a bummer.

The GIF in this post is so, so good. It perfectly encapsulates my frustrations.
Of course, now that we've posted Getting To Know Android: Lollipop Edition, it's time to get picky and have a look at the things that still need fixing. As... by Liam Spradlin in Design, Lollipop 5.0/5.1, Stock Android Isn't Perfect, Videos

Not Fixed: Widget picker and horizontal pagination --- This is my biggest op gripe. Widgets are one of the main distinctions and help make Android the most capable mobile OS. A simple widget real preview and reverse alphabet swipe shouldn't take that much effort to code into the selector, unless Google has a more advanced widget picker in queue for imminent release.

I wrote a little guide about how to get into Kerbal Space Program following the big 1.0 release. You should try this game... if you hate having free time. It's really good.
After four long years in beta, Kerbal Space Program has been officially released as version 1.0. This is an intimidating game full of real science and engineering to learn. Even with endless hours [...]

Another One M9 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 direct comparison. Medium indoor light. Galaxy S6 is slightly warm, but gets the detail. M9 photo is too cool, very dim, and way too noisy. Both were on auto (ISOs according to metadata are GS6-640 and M9-800).

Personally, I prefer cool colors because they appear more neutral and truer to life. There's more room to cool a photo and still have it not look abnormal, but you can't warm a photo to the same (linear) extent. In terms of detail, the M9 is still predictably disappointing, and of course low light suffers.

Hopefully the M10 is better :( I'll be sticking with my M7 for much longer than its lifespan.

The Alcatel Idol 3 has the coolest packaging for a phone ever. Probably won't be the consumer version, but delightful for me nonetheless.

BTW: photos taken with the M9 which is why they're sort of... not good.
