Don't worry, it probably won't mean troops on the ground, just an airstrike or something.

Edit: This place has really slipped. Last few times I was there, the BBQ was wet (not moist, WET) and kinda gross feeling. I think it was reheated from frozen Q. I showed up during peak lunch time. I don't expect to be seated right away, but a quick smile from the waitress and a "we'll be right with you" or "I'll get you seated in just a second" would go a long way. As it was, we waited at the front of a line headed out the door for about 10 minutes without a single waitress ever greeting us. Each of the 3 or 4 waitresses must have walked by a dozen times. That's unacceptable. Original review follows below: -------------------- Far and away my favorite BBQ joint. Food is always fresh and delicious. They won't sell day old Q, so if they cook it and run out you'll have to pick something else. This is mostly western NC BBQ. If you want good eastern NC BBQ, check out Bill Spoon's on South Blvd.

Best barbeque in Charlotte. Try it Eastern NC style with their vinegar sauce, and of course you need to get some Brunswick Stew and Mustard-based slaw.

Staff was friendly. Restaurant and clientele seemed a little uppity for me. Burger was good, but I've had better and paid less at Five Guys or even Cook-Out. Don't get me wrong, this was a gourmet burger...just nothing to write home about. Next time I want a burger like this I'll hit up Red Robin or Bad Daddy's. The shake was pretty good. I liked the option to get sweet potato fries instead of regular, and they were seasoned well.

Best place to go for all of your archery needs. Sie is super knowledgeable, as is to expected from someone doing this as long as she has. I bought my bow from them about 10-12 years ago, and just brought it back to have it serviced. They replaced just about everything they could on it for only $50. I also asked for a few adjustments to the sight and the draw weight while they were at it, and each time Sie got it right on the mark. It may be a little drive out of your way to China Grove, but it's well worth it.

Went for a business trip. Stayed in the room and used their conference room plus their catering. Food was good enough and the staff was friendly enough to give them 2 stars. The biggest problem was with billing. They were supposed to have me on my company's card because they booked the room. Then they requested my card just for "incidentals." Well, fine. Checked out and asked to be sure I would have no charges, and the room night was going to the card. They confirmed, then charged my card $276 anyway. So that sucks. Otherwise, the hotel was loud despite signs urging guests to remain quiet, and I was woken up several times each night by loud guests. Rooms were fairly clean, but with normal high-end hotel traps like $5/bottle of water sitting in the room. The toilet leaked in one of the rooms and ran all night. That was a little annoying. Finally, I'll never figure out how hotels that are 1/3 the cost can offer a free breakfast and juice and coffee, but this place charges ridiculous amounts for a simple egg. Next time, I'm going back to the Hampton Inn.

Killer Q! I remember accidentally visiting this place as a kid, and have always wanted to go back. While visiting S&S Graham Archery down the road, they recommended this place. I pulled up and instantly knew I'd like to eat in a little dive like this. I almost stopped at the other BBQ place in town, but it looked kitschy and there were almost no cars there. The parking lot was packed at Gary's. Color me surprised when I walked in and saw a VERY nice, clean, and well-lit establishment. I seated myself (even though it was crowded on a weeknight) and ordered the pulled pork. It took all of 2 minutes for the waitress to return with my Sweet Tea and huge plate of BBQ. It takes HOURS to cook barbecue, so really, all they should have to do is dump some on a plate, right? Then why do some places take so long to scoop up some Q? All I can figure is they are reheating it. At first I thought the meat pile was a little small, but had quickly eaten my fill. Everything was seasoned properly, and required no additional sauce (though the vinegar and ketchup based sauces were excellent). I also had the red ketchup and vinegar based slaw, which was also very good. In short, I'm not going to drive over an hour to get here regularly, but will make it a point to stop by any time I'm in the area.

Burger was surprisingly good. I ordered the Double Bacon Chili Cheese Burger. Way more than I needed. This isn't your standard 4 or 5-inch burger. It's like 7-8 inches across. Milkshake was really good. Not too runny, not too thick.
