LOVE that Google is doing this!!
Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.. Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Sena...

I was a little disappointed in their response to be honest. If they really wanted to make an impact. Go Dark for an hour and redirect to a page that says this is what will happen if this passes. That would show everyone how badly the internet would be impacted. Sure they care about ad sales but a few million bucks when you are a 1/2 trillion dollar business is peanuts. Wiki, Reddit did it the right way. If Facebook did it as well. That's 600 million people who would just realize holy shit this is bad.

Wow... Have you seen any Google product (or any product for that matter) receive this many updates so quickly?

Today, we are introducing a new feature that lets you filter Google+ search results by location. On a search results page, select the “From Everywhere” menu, and enter the city or zip code you’re interested in. This way, you can view sunsets from Maui, football in Green Bay, or traffic in London. For posts to appear in location-filtered search results, users must have explicitly added a location to their post, either from desktop or mobile.

"Dannon. The yogurt maker says it's trying to improve Americans' snacking habits. And what better stage than the Super Bowl, when snacking is often at its worst? 'Now is time for us to step up our game to change that behavior,' says Sergio Fuster, head of marketing."

Smart marketing. Show a bunch of dudes watching football a "hunk?" while they eat beer, chili, and wings. Not sure how effective it will be. That is definitely one day a year that guys just don't give a shit about health. Curious to see how it does. Let us know.

He just doesn't get it... Wikipedia isn't doing the blackout because SOPA would affect them. Wikipedia is doing because SOPA would affect EVERYBODY
Mashable originally shared:

The architect of SOPA, Rep. Lamar Smith, has scheduled a markup session next month in which the bill might be altered. In another statement, he lambasted Wikipedia for its decision to blackout in protest of SOPA.

“It is ironic that a website dedicated to providing information is spreading misinformation about the Stop Online Piracy Act,” reads the statement. “The bill will not harm Wikipedia, domestic blogs or social networking sites. This publicity stunt does a disservice to its users by promoting fear instead of facts. Perhaps during the blackout, Internet users can look elsewhere for an accurate definition of online piracy.”

Do you agree or disagree with Rep. Smith? Why?

These numbers are a little hokey, but all strong signs that Google+ has seen some amazing (and sustained) growth

I have far less confidence that Microsoft will succeed in this game than any of the other players.
