It's about time...

Finally, a reasonable fix for this well known issue.
Updated, Prism repair kit I have successfully repaired the foiling issue on +Google Glass need to add a polished metal layer for looks but the important part is the Display and clarity are perfect. The kits will include materials to put on a new layer of "Foil" and then a soft insulated cap to protect the new foil. The best part you only have to purchase one kit you can repair kit you can repair it multiple times of you get foiled again. Let me know what you think any questions let me know!

It was suggested a code bump list like the ones we've used for previous betas might be better than a chain of comments so I generated a public spreadsheet instead. Here's the link :

One of the most common complaints I've heard so far is that the app asks for a phone number to verify identity.  So does Google and it's not all that uncommon anymore to use text messages sent to phone to verify identity.  The developers will not use your your number for anything other than verification of identity.  If you're really worried about giving out your cell number use a google voice one.

Yes it's me. No I wasn't hacked, and I promise this post was not made by a spambot...

I was recently invited to take part in the initial beta launch of a brand new app that aims to give GameStop a run for their money (literally). The new online marketplace went live about a week ago and already has a boatload of inventory available.

The app is called Gameflip and allows users to buy and sell video games back and forth for a flat rate commission of 10% paid to the marketplace. It doesn't matter if the item is $5 or $500 the 10% flat rate remains the same and you keep the rest. There are both iOS and Android versions so as long as you didn't buy yourself a Windows Phone you're all good. If you did buy one, I suggest you stop reading and go get a real phone anyway.

Gameflip offers a guarantee to any sellers that want to sell in their marketplace that directly targets GameStop's insanely low trade in values. Anyone who's been to GameStop before knows that they'll only pay you about $20 or less for a used title that they will sell back to you for $55 without batting an eye. Since GameStop pretty much dominates the used game market hands down, there are very few other places to go if you want to walk in and out with cash in hand 5 minutes later.

Gameflip aims to level the playing field with a seller guarantee of 20% more in cash than you would get from GameStop or the app will issue you a credit for the difference if the item does not sell. The full details are available in the app and on the app's website or you can PM me and I'll send them to you directly.

Those of you who know me, know I'm not one to post much on Facebook but I figured this app was worth a mention because I know a lot of you on my friends list are gamers.

If anyone wants to check it out there's currently an initial launch promo going on that ends at midnight tonight. The update I just received from the company states it ends at 12:00pm PDT (GMT - 7:00) on July 20th but I'm pretty sure this was a typo and the promotion ends tonight as was originally discussed. The promotion details are as follows :

Any purchase of $10 or less will be credited back to all accounts dollar for dollar in the form of a credit that can be used for any future purchase made within 7 days. If anyone does use the app to make a purchase and runs into any issues, PM me and I can help you get it sorted out. I've been in direct contact with staff members from day one of the app launch and we e-mail back and forth daily.
It make it even better I have an invite code I'm posting below that is good for an initial $2 credit when you simply download the app and install it. The code I have is only good for 10 uses so it's a first come first served deal. You will all receive invite codes after signup to use for an additional $2 for you and $2 for anyone you invite up to a max of $20 per person for invites. If your friends make an initial purchase after signing up with your invite code you will receive an additional $4 credit per person up to a max of $40. The potential maximum credit any one user can get from referrals right now is currently $60 which should be good enough to get anyone a free brand new release of almost any title, for any system.

Other cross promotions are also running and another featured store was selling brand new copies of :

- Batman Arkham Knight
- Elder Scrolls Online
- The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
- Splatoon

for 50% off several days ago. That promotion has already ended but I didn't post about it because I wanted to see how well the app preformed before bothering to promote it personally. Free is better than 50% off anyway I assume. Other promotions are still running as well and my wall of text is way too large already to post every single detail here. The best way to see what I'm talking about is to install the app and check it out. If you don't like it just delete it. No harm, no foul and it won't bother me one bit because I didn't write it; I'm just part of the initial launch.

As far as the $2 invite credit and $4 referral purchase credit I can guarantee that promotion will run for a while to drive more users to the app. The "$10's back for any purchase" promotion ran this weekend only and should end at midnight tonight. It may run until midnight tomorrow but don't quote me on that. As I stated earlier, I'm pretty sure someone made a typo on the date when they said the 20th instead of the 19th.

I do have one disclaimer, and there's always a catch right? Oddly enough it is simply this, you will not be credited if you buy anything from me with the code below; anyone else's inventory is fair game. To prevent abuse you can't refer a friend, buy each others stuff, and get more free stuff. This is only of course to prevent abuse of the promotion. As long as you don't buy anything from "Video Game Vault"'s store using my promo code (which is my featured store at the top of the app) you're all good. If you guys want to refer each other you can use your credits to buy anything including my stuff.
Okay, I'm done constructing the Great Wall of Text. Feel free to check out GameFlip if you want.

INVITE CODE : 2UZ4X6

FYI if you guys want to refer each other back and forth instead of passing my code out, please do. Go nuts with it. Get $20 in credit for free with your own codes just for having friends install the app. Get up to $60 if people actually buy something with it. That's the whole purpose of a viral marketing campaign. I'm just the messenger...

My first time playing around with Google's auto awesome feature to build a video using old pics and video footage from an ingress mission a few months back. I can't wait to start using POV footage shot from Google Glass to build these!

In the spirit of Ingress it ends with a video of me running to a portal to knock out a blocker. It was time to move!

For those of you who don't know already, here's a news update regarding the MyGlass App for iPhones.  Not too worry you guys, it's a "good news" update.

I'm picking up my Google Glass this weekend and since there was no guarantee on the "actual release date" for the iPhone MyGlass App, of course I had to find a work around by this weekend.  ;-)

The MyGlass App for Apple's iPhone's running iOS 7.x.x was released on December 17th, shortly there after it was reportedly pulled from the Apple App Store and no longer available for download using the standard Apple App Store search method.  Google officially released a statement; the official answer as to why it was pulled is that it was released too early and would be "released later this week", concurrent with the XE12 Glass update.

Well, SURPRISE!!!  Here's a workaround for those of us who don't feel like waiting!  The MyGlass App does require iOS users to be running iOS 7.x.x. I but have semi addressed that issue below for you fellow Jailbreakers who are still running iOS 6.x.x while waiting for a stable iOS 7.x.x Jailbreak.  Personally I hate iOS 7 but them's the breaks (yes, pun very much intended.)

Oddly enough while Apple removed the App from their App Store search results, they never actually removed it from their App Store.  It can still be downloaded using a direct link to the app, bypassing the need to search for it using the Apple App Store search tool from which it was removed. I personally downloaded it straight into iTunes about an hour ago without any problems.

The iOS version of MyGlass requires iOS 7.x.x, so if you were still running iOS 6.x.x like me (because you wanted to wait for a stable untethered jailbreak) you will have to update to iOS 7.x.x to run the Apple version of the MyGlass App.  If you can't figure out how to do this, my advice is to stay in school and do your homework.  :-D

Not to worry my fellow amateur Jailbreakers, there are public iOS 7.x.x jailbreaks still in the works for the iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, iPad Air & iPods.  I'm not going to explain how to jailbreak iOS 7.x.x in this post but if you're an avid Jailbreaker I'm sure you can figure it out.

The only iOS 7.x.x jailbreak that I will publicly confirm as 100% working is for the iPhone 4 because it still has an A4 processor and utilizes the old BootROM exploit originally discovered by GeoHot back in 2010.  I have no problem publicly confirming this method of jailbreaking iOS 7.x.x because Apple can not simply write a patch to fix it.  A fix would require them to engineer a whole new A4 processor and they've long since moved on to the new 64 bit A7's.

Sorry folks, the iPhone 4 iOS 7.x.x jailbreak is still strictly a tethered one at this time...

P.S. :  Please don't ask me how to jailbreak your iPhone 5. 5c, 5s, or iPad or other device running iOS 7.x.x because I'm not writing this post as a tutorial on jailbreaking.  Sorry, but you'll have to wait like the rest of the general public for an easy iOS 7.x.x jailbreak utility.

For those of you wondering why I didn't just get an Android phone, the answer is simply this; I'm also installing the Android version of MyGlass on my Nexus 7 and tethering my Nexus 7 to my iPhone 5.

Besides, having an early release of MyGlass for my iPhone 5 was quite frankly more fun than just waiting for Google's official re-release.  This way I can still have all the benefits of running iOS and Android at the same time.

Happy Holiday Hacking Everyone!
