Do you have competition or are YOU the competition?

Far too often we allow our competition to be an excuse as to why we didn't achieve success.

Bullshit...

Ask the companies at the top of their respective industry about the competition and many will only have a vague idea of what they're doing. Do you think Zappos spends their time trying to beat their competition?

...or do you think they focus their attention on innovating their products and services?

Zappos is the competition to everyone else that selling shoes.

Innovation is the defining element, not product or service, not geography, not legacy, not technology, but a culture of innovation...

When you build a business on a foundation of innovation you no longer have competition. They will always be one set behind.
