Lets laugh shall we?

"It really comes down to one simple factor: People like things easy."

Yes MCC, unity and ps4 updates brciking consoles and psn and xbl going down were so easy, installing games then updating, then getting freezes, consoles are no longer as simple as they used to be.

"in order to make the most of the PC gaming experience, you will need to regularly buy new graphics cards, memory, and more. Brag about the ability to upgrade all you want, but someone who bought a $400 Xbox 360 seven years ago is still getting just as much enjoyment out of their system as the guy who bought a gaming computer at the same time, and certainly dropped over a grand into – maybe double that. Chances are, the PC guy went through several rigs in that time."

So having higher standarsds and the ability to ugprade and not paying for mp somehow makes gaming less enjoyable than playing with ancient graphics and paying for mp.... yeah no i am pretty sure the dated old console version is less enjoyable.

"More and more, laptop and desktop PCs are losing ground, in terms of sales, to simpler devices that are easy to use. By 2017, tablets will outsell traditional PCs. Why would consoles yield to a medium that is itself shrinking?"

lets go back at what you said on top

"Not long ago, our own Matt Smith put forward this contentious opinion, claiming that PC gaming is on the rise. Technically, it’s “gaming on a computer” rather than PC gaming,"

Make up your damn opinion, for what is worth desktop prebuilt sales are lower because you can do the same things with laptops and tablets but gaming hardware is higher than ever, pc is more relevant than ever before and steam has over 100 million users buying games regulary.

"Meanwhile, the PS4 and the Xbox One each sold one million units in their first 24 hours."

and steam gone from 65 to 100 million in less than a year.

"Part of their appeal is that they are more robust than their predecessors. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 extended their lives by moving out of gaming and into entertainment, and their successors build on that. If the new consoles have taught us anything, it’s that the future of gaming is going to revolve around devices that are more entertainment centers, devices that make doing once complex things simple."

Yeah no console gaming is more complicated and filled with hussles than it ever was before. The simplicity and plug and play you got from consoles is fading.

"If PC gaming hopes to be more than a niche in the future, PCs are going to have to adopt a similar model, with apps that are easy to use and simple to install. There will come a point when the line between what makes a PC and a console blur so much that the two may difficult to distinguish. When that happens, it will favor the consoles more than the PCs."

In what world you live in? When it was the last time you did anything on a pc? Everything is simplier now, and portable pcs for the living room is nothing new. Dont worry the lines between pc and console will blur but it will favor pc since the new console are basicly pcs with the same x86 architecture and the same features such as browising twitch, f2p, etc etc. There wont be a reason to have a console in the future once people wake up to the fact that consoles dont do anything as well as a pc does and there wont be another console generation since as nvidia said streaming and cloud is the future. You wont buy another console, you will just use crap like ps tv to stream games on your pc or tv.

"Look at the Steam Machines. PC gamers are rightly excited by these devices, but they sound more and more like consoles that function as PCs than the other way around"

So you are completly clueless as to what a steam machine is?

It is a CUSTOM build pc in a box with varied hardware and a optional OS to escape MS grasp. It is fully customizable and upgradable you can run windows, you can play with a mouse you can install mods.

It is an OPEN platform, like pcs, consoles are CLOSED platforms.

So sorry to tell you this but the future is more like pc than consoles

Why jump 20 years to the future? we can see it now, ms hints this is the last xbox, sony only made ps4 because they are leaking money and they aim to stream on all devices in the future, console gaming is dying, you will be streaming games on a tv, a pc or a tablet.

Besides sony will be bunkrupt by the time any of this happens.
