So with the +HTC M9 leaks coming thick and fast I've been reading numerous complaints about the return of infamous bottom bezel. I hope this picture puts a little perspective on things: the black bar isn't all that bad. When stacked up against the G3, a phone adorned last year for having minimal bezels, the black bar actually comes in smaller.

It shouldn't be overlooked that there is a display connection, backlights, an antenna, an amp, and speakers to squeeze into the bottom of the M8; that's no easy task and requires space

Don't get me wrong, I'd love the bar to be more compact. Perhaps HTC could have continued with capacitive buttons and given back more of the display to content, or swapped out LCD for AMOLED - removing LED backlights. I guess only time will tell if any measures have been taken to make the M9 more compact...

With all things considered is the look enough to stop you buying the M8 or future M9?

I personally haven't found the display to be all that great on the Z3TC and it certainly falls short of what I expect from a £379 tablet. The lower third of my tablet's display is quite yellow and there is a terrible rainbow effect across the screen and significant contrast drop when viewed at even shallow viewing angles. These issues are most prominent when displaying lighter colours, particularly whites; far from ideal when reading text documents or browsing online. I wish I could say that I am alone with these issues but there are others over on XDA reporting similar problems.

So after months of waiting patiently as an early supporter for a OnePlus One invite I have let the opportunity pass me by twice. Too many negative reports about poor customer service and the yellow banding issue, not to mention a list of other quibbles. Another customer lost +OnePlus. Let's hope the OnePlus Two turns things around. #Settled
