Join Ultracyclist Dave Haase and Director of Portfolio Marketing for IBM Analytics Doug Barton for a discussion with Ryan Boyles and Ted Conroy about the "Analytics of Dave" and how Dave uses analytics to train and tune his race performance through athlete data modeling, performance monitoring and predictive decision making based on the weather.
Dave found ultracycling after competing in a 24 hour race on a whim. When he found out it was a RAAM qualifier, his quote was, "If you qualify, I guess you have to do it." An attitude that sums up what Dave is all about. After nearly riding himself to death in the 2004 Race Across America, and doing so on camera for all the world to see in Steven Auerbach's "Race Across America," Dave went on to finish the RAAM 3 times over the next 5 years. Each time, Dave was the top American finisher and usually, the most entertaining. In 2015, Dave partnered with IBM to "race his perfect race" completing the 3,000 mile course in 8 days, 20 hours and the fastest time by an American in 16 years and a second place finish.
