My little brother recently got his call to Samoa. Is there anyone in this community that has been there so I can tell him some things to expect?

Even though the facts are overwhelmingly on our side Conservatives often seem to loose the debates about welfare reform. In this article I talk about a welfare system that is actually working as well as how to message welfare reform properly so that you don't fall into the same old trap.

It seems that every time there is a discussion on welfare reform, the conservative in the discussion falls into the same trap. Even with the facts squarely in their corner, the conservative plays the part of the Seahawks, and snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. This pitfall is where…

On Tip Off today Locke was talking about the book that he is reading. He mentioned that Rudy and Gordon have the mind of a champion in that they always think they can be better and that they will be great. Locke mentioned that Dante doesn't necessarily show that.
I was thinking that maybe Dante has just been coached so much on the media through the AIS that he is trying to show humility and not trying to take over the team from the older players and not try to do too much to loose games. Maybe he does have that fire deep down, he is just really measured on how and when he shows it.
Is there anything to that or am I way off?

I think we can look at Exum and his growth to somewhat similar to that of Favs.  When Favs first got here he was a soft spoken good kid just trying to fit in and find his niche.  This last season was probably the very most of Derrick's personality that anyone other than close family and friends has ever seen.  He grew into the NBA life style and stardom.  I expect to see some of the same things from Dante over the next few years.

Rusell has great vision and passing, good handles and a good shot. I wonder how he compares to Steph or Harden. What do you guys think?

I broke out the old SNES NBA Jam game last night and put in the always in fire code. That is what watching Steph reminds me of.

Another NBA record for Stephen Curry - most 3-pointers made in a single postseason (59). #SPLASH

This is a good reminder about Arod's first stint as OC at Utah.
Aaron Roderick's first stint as the Utes offensive Coordinator was a mixed bag.

I think a big factor in the perception of A-Rod's success is how Travis Wilson plays against Pac 12 defenses (excepting Colorado). As a Senior will Travis be able to perform under pressure?

I wrote a blog post today about Singapore's different approach to welfare and what we can learn from it.
Their approach is an out of the box solution and one that I think we could benefit greatly from here in America. If only we could get both sides of the political aisle to sit down and discuss it somehow...
Read the post to see how I propose we do just that.

Well, hello beautiful Utah... we do really love you!
Some of these landscapes have become part of the national psyche. Others you may be seeing for the first time.

This is a cool new recruiting pitch for Utah football to use.
On average former Utes make more money in the NFL then almost any other school.
BYU wasn't on the list because you need to have more then 2 or 3 players in the league.
If you want to go to the NFL, you should go to the University of Utah. It's a recruiting pitch said over and over to prospective football players nearly every day from the coaching staff. But a new study may actually be on Utah's side now.

I'm not suggesting that at all. Just pointing out that the President is turning a blind eye to real danger and pretending that climate change is the biggest concern we face.

Introduction
I like to do so many different things that it is hard to list them all. I love to play basketball and waterski. I like to rock climb, snowboard, play football, hike, bike and do almost any other physical activity I can think of. I love to read, watch movies, and have good conversations.
I love to play and watch sports. My favorite teams are the Utah Jazz, Utah Utes, and Utah State Aggies.
If you want to add me to your circles then I am interested in all of the things above. I would also like to discuss:
-LDS doctrine and thoughts
-Politics (but it has to be civil. No name calling, cussing and blaming)
-Utah Utes Football
-Utah State Aggie Basketball
-Jazz Basketball
-I want to learn more about rock climbing and would love to find people around Salt Lake that I can go with.

I love Moochies. Their cheesesteaks and meatball sandwiches are great. I usually get the cheesesteak with the jalepeno sauce on it. The fries are my favorite in town. I want to try the "Atomic Meatball" sometime (The meatball sub with the jalepeno sauce on it), but I like the cheesesteak too much to give it up.

Tucanos is a Brazilian style grill. Waiters come around with different kinds of meat, vegetables and fruits for you to try. They also have a huge salad bar. We always eat until we are stuffed and can't eat anymore. My favorite dish is the grilled pineapple brushed with brown sugar.

We are there last night with a work group. Since we had so many people we ordered a lot of appetizers and sides so we could taste everything. All of the food we tasted was so good. The stake I had was juicy and flavored very well with simple flavoring. The sweet potato casserole is my favorite thing on the menu. My wife tried the venison and lived it. It is very hard to go wrong with Ruths Chris.

The gym is big with a lot of room to climb. The place is clean and well taken care of. Prices are comparable to other gyms. My main problem is with the staff. I have been here many times and all of the staff have been arrogant, rude and ornery. When I used to climb at Rock Haus in Logan everyone was always so nice and willing to talk and help and teach. At momentum whenever I ask a question i get looked at like I am an idiot who is wasting their time.

When I was deciding what type of gun to buy I visited many of the gun shops in the valley. The Gun Vault was very helpful in telling me my options and they had a good stock on hand too. I will be going back to do business with them in the future.

I went there this weekend and tried the cheesesteak. I can't wait to go back. It was by far the best cheesesteak in town. I can't wait to go back and try some more of the food. If you are in the Salt Lake area this is one of the must try food establishments.

I had the machine gun sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was not your regular sandwich or sausage. The mix of the spicy sausage, frites, french bread and spicy sauce made a unique combination that tasted great. My wife and I split a machine gun and were both satisfied because it was so filling.
