How is it I have managed to produce a child who prefers the Demi Lovato version of "Let it Go" to the Idina Menzel one?!

And please excuse the earlier brain fart. What I earlier referred to as a bridge is a) probably more accurately referred to as a "B section", and b) only instrumental for about 5 bars! My only excuse would be a lack of pre-comment coffee. ;-)

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums, the Mums-to-be and those who are still waiting to become a Mum.

Special hugs to those with a Mum-shaped hole in their life, and those Mums whose children left too soon.

You are all amazing. You are all changing the world...

They've updated the article. Apparently it was not assisted. I can't quite put my finger on why, but that's somewhat of a relief.

Very interesting comparison of two microphones - I'm going to have to get myself one of those Speedlinks!

This is now so poignant following the death of Sir Terry Pratchett. He was the first author ever invited to give the prestigious Richard Dimbleby Lecture at the Royal College of Physicians. Unable to deliver the speech himself due to his Alzheimers, the speech is given by a "stunt Pratchett" - his good friend Tony Robinson.

I first came across the combination of Sir Terry Pratchett's words and Tony Robinson's voice when I listened to the audio books of Truckers, Diggers and Wings - the Bromeliad trilogy. This is a very different subject, but equally beautifully written and delivered.

The speech covers death, dying and assisted death.

Introduction
Hi there, thanks for stopping by. I'm Ruth, sometimes known as Rufus, Artoo or geekmummy. I'm a wife to one, mother of two (my daughter was born in 2007 and my son joined the family in 2010), and I try to juggle working part time in an office with running the home and looking after the family.

Then in my spare time I produce a weekly podcast with my husband called Parental Geekery. And I write my geekmummy blog.

I'm a tech geek, and I am particularly interested in how technology can be used within families. I play World of Warcraft, but don't get as much time to play as I'd like. I love cats and I enjoy amateur dramatics.
