Massage for Prevention and Self Care -- medical and orthopedic massage therapy, received on a frequent basis (I recommend a minimum of once a month for my clients), can be highly effective in the prevention of injury, aches and pains. Massage therapy not only increases circulation, but modalities like Myofascial Release, stretches and strengthens your soft tissue to a point where injury can be le...ss serious than without regular Myofascial Release. Myofascial Release, done on a monthly basis, will lower your blood pressure, relieves aches and pains, strengthens the immune system, increases your range of motion (ROM), ease of motion (EOM), and quality of motion (QOM), and reduces repetitive stress injuries (RSIs). Then there is "Self-Care." Why wait until you are in pain? Doesn't it make more sense to "prevent" pain from occurring? There is so much more to an advanced-level massage, than you think. For a personal consultation or if you have questions, please contact me, Gail Russo, LMBT, in Cary, 919-465-1558. Please review my website: www.russomassage.com

SCOLIOSIS is a curvature of the spine - often causing back fatigue and pain. Whether you have a mild curvature or you've had a correction device like Harrington rods placed along each side of your spine, you may still suffer from discomfor...t or pain. The pain and discomfort can and should be treated with some massage work. Muscles that are affected by scoliosis are located on the concave side of the curvature. Massage therapy can be very beneficial in relieving discomfort. I recommend a therapy session at least once a month. Contact Gail Russo, LMBT, at Russo Massage Therapy to discuss, www.russomassage.com

Kinesio Taping - is a great way to support a sore or injured muscle. Paired with massage therapy - the sore area or muscle will have increased blood circulation..., which improves the healing process. KT is for everyone, not just athletes. For more information about the benefits of pairing manual/massage therapy and kinesio taping, call Gail Russo, LMBT, BCTMB, to discuss. Gail is a member of Kinesio Taping Association International (KTAI).

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY to reduce soft tissue chronic pain. I get calls every day from folks complaining about tightness and soreness in the neck, shoulders, back, glutes, hams, quads, etc. Nine times out of ten, these "exquisite points of pain," are known as neuromuscular trigger points. Folks, trigger points are very treatable with trigger point therapy - many times, they are the root cause of soft tissue chronic pain and are due to "overuse." They can be relieved in a few short sessions. There's no need to suffer with something so common. Contact Gail Russo, LMBT, BCTMB, to discuss what you're feeling and to set up an appointment. The holidays are coming, give yourself permission for "self-care." (Office will be open Friday, 11/27, and Saturday, 11/28). Russo Massage Therapy, Cary, NC
