- at BAC we actually had a dev environment, two tiers of testing environment and then finally production. but then, defects in production tended to create very much unhappiness so we put a lot of energy into avoiding that.50w
- I have a full dev environment, a full set of virtual machines that are clones of production, and then a local production machine, before the updates get pushed out across the machines scattered all over the US. There are a few 'lights out' facilities that are very expensive to have someone visit to back out a package/patch.50w
