Want to find out if your title rocks or sucks? If your cover draws readers in or chases them away? And have fun doing it? The good folks at ImmerseOrDie have soft launched a free tool/game for indie authors, but we need some beta users to help us test and tweak. And we're looking specifically for Fantasy or SF authors. So if you're interested, come check us out at http://page-fight.com. You have nothing to lose but your obscurity. :-)

Hey gang, ImmerseOrDie has gone live with a beta of a new game/tool we're launching that we think will be really useful for both indie authors and readers alike.

You can click through to the article for more details, but the TL;DR is that authors can post book titles, taglines, covers, etc., and readers get to compare them head to head against other candidates, marking their preferred candidate from each pair in a lightning-round flurry of judgement. This lets authors test reader reactions to their marketing materials BEFORE they launch, and lets readers scan through lots of upcoming books to find books and authors that they might want to check out. The whole thing is entirely free and it's kind of addictive.

We still have lots to do, but the core game is working, and we need your feedback to help shape further development. Tell us what you think.

It's as if somebody took the headlines about Anonymous, cooked them in a spoonful of heroin, and bludgeoned the whole mess with a pillowcase full of bars of soap rendered from the body fat of the rich and famous.

Damn that was bad. Anyway, I was recently asked to write a short story for a science fiction anthology. It had some pretty particular guidelines which focused on near future, near earth events. As part of the project, I started with a timeline – of things…

My Subversive Un-Release - officially a writer now, I shirk a deadline like a pro #WriteLife

One thing I've been consistent about but never really acknowledged is that my writing nearly always has a subversive quality. Ambitious zombies that unwittingly end their own apocalypse. Ancient nosferatu who find themselves buying body glitter so they…

Daredevil is the Least Interesting Thing About Daredevil #Netflix #Daredevil #Marvel

It's like Daredevil is Jimmy Fallon: He's not quite as Jimmy Kimmel, doesn't have near the game of Craig Ferguson, but he's got a lot of intriguing friends that stop by.
