At Ruigrok Flowerbulbs it is peak season because we are in the middle of our harvest. Which means that all our flower bulbs are being lifted out off the ground to be carefully prepared for shipping. Our wholesale flower bulbs are available in a wide array of retail packaging designed exclusively for independent garden centers as well as bulk bulbs for professional landscapers, public parcs and gardens and greenhouses.

It's the season and we don’t mean the season to be jolly, although we are looking forward to the Holidays as well. For us it is the season for planting at our nursery. And an important season it is! Fall is the perfect time where we plant our flower bulbs so they can grow big and strong for harvest season next year.

Planting flower bulbs

Spring-flowering bulbs such as tulips, daffodils and hyacinths are planted in the autumn, from September to December, before the first ground frost. Summer-flowering bulbs such as dahlias and calla lilies are planted in the spring as soon as there is no risk of ground frost. The flower bulbs are put up straight, to ensure optimum growth.

We select the best flower bulbs

After the harvest our flower bulbs go through a selecting process, and the big and beautiful ones are shipped to our customers overseas. The smaller ones are left behind in the Netherlands to grow for another year on our fields. After the blooming and culling period where we select only the strongest and tallest bulbs and after the sales, we are left with a stock of promising young flower bulbs. In October and November we replant these bulbs again so we can benefit from their beauty in Spring. And your customers can benefit from them next year!

Bulbs for your customers

So, if we are planting our flower bulbs, does this mean this is a good time for your customers to plants their bulbs as well? The answer is yes! This is the perfect time to plant the bulbs so all the gardens, parks, golf courses and other green areas will be one colorful explosion coming spring!
