And another! Down comes the Southern Spars composite rig belonging to the high performance, Reichel/Pugh Yacht Designed sailing yacht Aragon.

This is the first time we have pulled Aragon's rig since they were with us prior to their epic win of the 2016 RORC Transat! Here's what they said to us following placing first in that race...

''From the entire team of Aragon i would like to thank you all for your work and help in making Aragon able to win the Rorc Transatlantic race 2016''

Great to have you back Aragon!

Last week, we hung the huge mizzen mast belonging to the 56m +Perini Navi built Ketch, Melek, on the upper level of the paint tent ready for re-finishing work.

We are project managing this rig refit from start to completion, as one of the few rigging companies capable of handling such a big rig, and project, safely and efficiently.

And another rig comes down... it was a blustery day last week in STP Shipyard Palma, nevertheless, our riggers successfully unstepped two big rigs! The first belonging to the 2002 Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design designed, Baltic Yachts built, 45m S/Y Visione.

Visione has established herself as a modern classic; an iconic yacht which some pundits regard as having been well ahead of her time when she was launched. Despite her age she is still winning regattas thanks to an ongoing programme of improvement.

Contact Russ@rsb-rigging.com to discuss all rigging requirements from retrofits to running rigging, to inspections and load testing.

Hands up who knows the difference between and 'rope' and a 'line'?

Well, except for a bolt rope, which comes in various flavours — luff bolt rope and foot bolt rope —
in nautical parlance, “rope” is cordage that is currently unemployed, coiled up, on a spool cordage, or piled up in an un-seaman-like rat’s nest. But when a piece of rope is put to a specific use or task, it becomes a “line''.

At RSB our dedicated splicing department is world renowned. Contact the team at splicing@rsb-rigging.com for all your running rigging requirements.
