For Brunswick Ohio Car & Truck Owners, It’s important to inspect your brakes regularly and look for these signs of trouble:

A.) Muddy brown colored brake fluid means it is old and has absorbed water. It needs to be changed, especially if the brake light is on.

B.) If you hear a high-pitch squealing or scraping noise when braking, have your brakes inspected as soon as possible.

C.) If you hear a grinding metal sound when applying the brakes, you could be damaging the rotors and drums and definitely need to have your brakes checked immediately!

D.) A brake pedal that feels soft or mushy when pumping the brake may indicate that there is a problem with the brake hydraulics. A pedal that sinks all the way to the floor may indicate a brake master cylinder problem. Either one is an IMMEDIATE inspection issue!

E.) If your car pulls to the side or if the brakes pulse when braking, you could have warped brake rotors and/or drums or problems with the hydraulic system.

Brake pad problems can usually be identified by squealing brakes. If your brake pads deteriorate completely, you'll hear a grinding metal-on-metal sound when braking, meaning that it's too late and you're ruining your rotors or drums!

Those with knowledge of auto repair may be able to fix this at home, but you should always see an auto repair professional immediately if you have brake problems.

Air Conditioning Maintenance, Service & Repair for Cars and Trucks in Brunswick Ohio

Air Conditioning Maintenance - Most Brunswick Ohio area car and light truck owners don’t service their automobiles air conditioning until after it fails. Maintaining your car or trucks air conditioning system means that you always have enough refrigerant to properly do the job. Small leaks in the air conditioning system allow the refrigerant to escape and the system can’t cool the air as well.

Along with the refrigerant, a special oil circulates in the system. The oil lubricates air conditioning components, and keeps the seals resilient. Low refrigerant and lubricating oil means that the air conditioning parts will wear out prematurely, and we all know that air conditioning repairs can be costly in Brunswick Ohio.

Air conditioning service at Royal Car Care in Brunswick Ohio starts with a visual inspection of the components for signs of damage or leaks. The compressor is driven by a belt from the engine, most often the serpentine belt, so it’s inspected for cracks or wear.

Brakes Service in Brunswick Ohio - According to the Car Care Council, the entire brake system should be checked every year; inspecting the brake linings, rotors and drums.

Check brake fluid with engine off or running. If frequent topping off is required, inspect brake linings and check for fluid leaks. Replace fluid every 2-years or 24,000 miles. It's always best to be able to plan ahead for brake work by knowing the brake condition as your car ages.

At Royal Car Care in Brunswick Ohio you can get the safety and reliability of new tires truly at "Our Cost!" Any Brand, Any Size, Every Tire Sold At Cost. To determine the size tire you need for your car or light truck, call us at (330) 220-5500 or Request A Tire Quote at: http://royalcarcarecenter.com/tire_quote.htm

What do those numbers on your tires represent?
The numbers in the tire size refer to its width, aspect ratio, and wheel diameter. (see attached diagram) "185/75R14" means the tire is 185 mm wide, has an aspect ratio (that is, the width divided by the height) of 75%, and fits on a 14" rim.

"R" means radial tire. They're all radials nowadays. Speed ratings are usually inserted before the "R." The most common speed ratings are HR (good for 130mph), VR (149 mph), and ZR (more than 149 mph).

Metric, or tire type, defines the proper use of the tire. For example, a "P" designation means that it is a passenger car tire. An "LT" designation is for a light truck.

Tire Width is the width of the tire measured in mm from sidewall to sidewall. This tire width is 215 mm.

Rim Diameter is the width in inches or cm of the wheel from one end to the other. The diameter of this wheel is 16 in.

Speed Rating tells you the maximum service speed for a tire. A speed rating isn't a recommendation to exceed speed limits, and doesn't indicate how well a tire handles or corners. Learn more about tire Speed Ratings.

Aspect Ratio is the ratio of the height of the tire's cross-section to its width. On our example, 60 means that the height is equal to 60% of the tire's width.

Construction tells you how the layers of the tire were put together. "R" stands for radial, which means the layers run radially across the tire. "B" stands for bias construction, which means that the layers run diagonally across the tire.

Load Index is an assigned number that corresponds with the load-carrying capacity of a tire. Most passenger car tire load indexes range from 75 to 100, but a few carry more. You'll also find the maximum load elsewhere on the tire sidewall, both in lbs and kg. Learn more about tire load index.
