125 jaar geleden overleed Vincent van Gogh. Hoezeer het ware leven van de kunstenaar afweek van de mythevorming, zal voor immer de vraag blijven. Hetzelfde geldt de oorzaak van zijn dood.

The Pope's popularity declines
What did I tell you? The pope sides with the poor, believes things that I don't. Speaks his mind. Speaks out. Is present. Speaks the human language. We have another hero and villain. Keep your cool. He is like you me.

File this under Crazy and Irresponsible Republicans: Obama's Iran Nuclear Deal Will Lead To 2nd Holocaust
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee came under fire Sunday after accusing President Barack Obama of marching Israelis “to the door of the oven” by agreeing to an Iran nuclear deal that the former Fox News host says is too weak.

This is not a free application. The annual cost for a site is $350 (US) and $50 per year or $5 per month for each user. Mentioning this in the video would have saved me time.

After 150,000 miles (and going) my wife got stuck with our Subaru in State College. Graham's came to the rescue, towed the car to the garage, figured out that they could not repair the car and brought it to Stocker's Subaru for repairs. We have AAA and I am sure Graham's got paid (as they should) but what stood out for us was their professional attitude, their ability to talk to us, and how they did what they said they were going to do.

We stayed here for a few days in late June, 2009. We found out about this place from a flyer in a coffee shop in Pokka, where we arrived from Kittila on our way to Inari. The drive was beautiful, no car to be seen and the asphalt road (after Pokka) in great shape. Ran into a few reindeer, but for the rest, small birch and pine forests, and lakes of course, as far as the eye could see. Korpikartano consists of a manor house with several comfortable wooden rooms, and appartments in what used to be an old school building, The owners have recently added an fantastic enclosed barbecue pit in the shape of a teepee, with deer hides on wooden benches and a pointed glass roof for a look at the sky. They are in the process of completing another BBQ house for larger groups. My wife swam in the lake, we went canoeing on the river in the national park nearby, and had healthy dinners in the restaurant in the manor and in restaurant Akhuntupa nearby. Met some interesting fellow travelers, most of whom were on their way to the North Cape. We appreciated the advice from Tara Arrela, the hostess and also talked to the owner of this wonderful resort.
