A Good Day

The Critique:

The fog is lifting and light is bouncing off of building surfaces revealing exquisite details in the early morning sun. Portrait framing enhances the very solid upright look of the buildings as they push upward into the sky. The windows form a series of patterns that add both interest and substance. Colors are still muted in the low sun but tonal qualities are present and add nice contrast and energy to the shot. Spatial relationships are strong even though the telephoto lens has done some compression. Nice balance – I like the calm bay water anchoring the scene. It reminds me that San Francisco, for all her amazing structures, is really more about the abundance of nature than anything else.

What I have learned:

Watch the light. It was making scant appearances. Literally a few seconds was all I had.
