The Google Summit was awesome and I learned a lot from attending the sessions. Chadwick will be hosting another one in September 2015...can't wait!

Rowland Baker has been an educator for over thirty years in both public and private schools. He served as a teacher for fourteen years, a principal in two different schools, a director of technology and an assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in a county of about 45,000 students. He has also directed several statewide projects for the California Department of Education.
He has worked closely over the years with Institutes of Higher Education, the Association of California School Administrators, California School Leadership Academy, the California Technology Assistance Project and the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE).
Rowland serves on several state and national committees focused on technology and education. He was one of forty educators brought together from across the United States to help ISTE write the National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators. He was also one of four educators selected for an internship at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) for Xerox.
Mr. Baker has presented at numerous conferences and summits in the Untied States, as well as internationally. As a Google Educator, he has presented and keynoted in various conferences across the US as well as International Google Educational Summits in the Austria, Czech Republic, England, Thailand, Viet Nam, Philippines, Bulgaria, Germany, South Korea, Thailand and Italy.
He was also invited to participate in the Open Educational Resource Congress, held at UNESCO in Paris, France in 2012. Rowland was also part of a select group of educators invited to attend the EDusummIT in The Hague, Netherlands in 2009, and again in Paris France in 2011 and Washington, DC in 2013, and Bangkok Thailand in 2015. He was one of three US educators invited to speak at the Dubai Global EdTech Forum
During his career, he has been an advocate for innovation and technology in our schools, whether speaking with educators, legislators or congressional staff. He has received numerous award including, Teacher of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Distinguished Service Award from Phi Delta Kappa, and the Prestigious Montague Award for Outstanding Achievement from Association of California School Administrators, ISTE's Making IT Happen Award, Educator of the year for California ASCD and CUE’s Legislative Advocacy Award.
