A few years ago I graduated with a marketing degree and thought I was armed with everything I needed to take over the world. To my surprise, employers didn't care about my ability to recite the 4P's or the hundreds of other theories found in the textbooks. They wanted me to know the digital space and social media. So I spent weekends & late nights studying the craft online. I call it the Online Hustle MBA.
Thousands of communications grads are being chucked into the workforce without any knowledge on what companies are actually looking for. It blows my mind that many schools are still playing catch up. If you want to stand out amongst your peers, you need to put in the work. You need to read industry blogs, study the work of those who are doing it and be willing to hustle 24-7-365. And Universities YOU need to take responsibility and update your curriculum. You can start with these topics.. ‪#‎HustleAndGrind‬
Universities have taught marketing for many years. Digital marketing however, is still a topic that many tenured professors do not touch. It's a disservice to students that many curriculums and textbooks don't highlight technology.

Over the last few years, the entire sales and marketing process for B2B and enterprise organizations has shifted. These companies are no longer armed with information that is hidden from the public and sales teams are no longer in the driver seat. Leads and prospects now hold the power as information is more readily available and the increase in competition has resulted in a plentiful supply of choice. Beyond that, technology has completed disrupted the once linear buying process and behaviour of B2B customers and has forced marketers to become more strategic and efficient in their approach. Here are a few trends that I believe are going to redefine marketing in the B2B space over the next few years.

This is a project I started many months ago after conversations with many of you.. After trying to bring it to life solo, I reached out to Findlay and was able to accelerate this project from a dream into a reality. You can expect the full launch to happen in the weeks to come. We're offering a monthly subscription box filled with everything from books and mugs to coffee and gadgets. The tools & the fuel that an entrepreneur, startup, office, freelancer or all around hustler would need to be successful. Not only are we looking to help current hustlers, we're also committed to helping hustlers of the future.
