Would Google be mad at me if...I did a "14 day trial" in one area, cancel, couple months later, do another "14 day trial" in another area? Just to solid test service in both my hometown and where I move to next

You can suspend up to 3 months then your billing auto resumes I'm on suspend right now still have to pay the data fees Basic service costs are refunded or credited monthly. Beware you can only suspend once every billing cycle and you lose Google voice functions including hangout calling texting Ect... and no call forwarding for any functions. You can still see your billing with the Fi Ap ., That's also how Google make money by useing your money every month.

Latest Dev update on my Asus Flip has a cursor issue. The mouse pointer turns into a blue box lol. Anyone else seeing that?

Not that big of a deal.

Does Project Fi have any kind of affiliate program yet? Like 5 bucks off a bill for referring people to Fi. It'd be worth it for a lot of us here to try and "sell Project Fi" to people. Even if still in baby stages, it does have "selling points".

Anyone here use Project Fi? If so, how reliable has it been for you? Thinking about moving my cellular world into the Google ecosystem like everything else is now lol.

Anyone explain why Tunnel Bear isn't working on my Asus Flip? Just stalls on the message at the bottom and doesn't load any sites. Spinning icon in tabs for eternity!

+Mike McLoughlin any company that claims that they are all for "privacy" and then explicitly screens for and bans P2P activity (whether it be legal or illegal activity) is too scary for me.

+Robert Smith they ban P2P activity, whether it's legal or illegal. This is, by definition, a violation of privacy.

Anyone here use Project Fi? In particular those who are satisfied with it despite any hiccups.

It has me really curious. Instead of hopping carriers every couple years, why not have a phone that hops services for me? lol

I have been using it for the last year and I love the service.. Yes, there are times when the service has hiccuped but it has gotten to a much better state than it was previously. The thing I like the most of the service is that it is on constant lookout for wifi hotspots to save as much data as it can for you. The ability to switch 3 carriers is added bonus which atleast in my experience translates to having a wider coverage area. Also, though I haven't personally used this feature, I like the idea of being able to roam internationally without the hassle of buying plans with local carriers. One drawback I have seen people complain is the service's availability to only 3 devices which again in my opinion is minor as these devices are extremely capable, having owned 2 of the 3. I have never had any issues with the hardware.

Just joined this community. I'm sure this question gets asked in all variations. Switching in particular from Verizon to Project Fi, I'd be saving money sure. But I have NO problems with Verizon whatsoever. No drops, no probs with data, travel is seamless. How reliable is Project Fi, if you're someone that comes from a network that hasn't given you any problems? Project-Fi still kinda beta, or no?.

Here's what I got from Tunnel Bear regarding the browser extension running on a Chromebook. Guess Betternet wins for me!

I almost always use Beta. But, I really see no big difference between Stable and Beta. I go back and forth if I feel something isn't working right, then I stay on there until I feel something's not right and I switch back. So I don't even consider it a problem if a channel change fixes it.

Telegram or WhatsApp?

(Aside from WhatsApp on Google Play not compatible on Chromebooks yet)

+Frank Rehse And both are big "who cares" in everyday messaging. If I'm sending nuke launch codes - yeah, I'll make sure I use the proper ways to deliver them. But when I want convenience of everyday use, I'll use what is convenient. They are ignoring the part where all services leak meta data, so long as it's stored anywhere (that's why there are algorithms that can fake it). Besides, cryptography, no matter how serious, is always nominal - what needs to be hacked will be hacked. That said, good luck cracking through Telegram's secret chats.
And I must have missed that part, where the OP's question was focused on security. If that is the ultimate goal of comparison, then no service that relies on a phone number, should be considered.
