Just a note:

Many things that get posted here are automatically flagged as spam by Google+ .

Until now, I have tried to monitor what is flagged, and either accept/reject appropriate/inappropriate content.  However, the list keeps getting longer and longer, and it is taking a lot of time to go through and sort...

Because of this, I will no longer be checking any posts that are automatically flagged as spam.   If there is something that you really think may have been flagged by mistake, contact me and I will look into it.

My apologies, and thanks for your understanding.

Finally!  My super busy month is over.
I haven't been able to upload anything for a month... Sorry guys...
Here's another listening lesson for you all, yay!

Watch this space, I really want to do regular video chats in the morning (Japan Time).
I haven't had much luck testing things out yet, but each failure brings us closer to success, right.

Staying positive, and hope to speak to you all soon!
Improve your English by listening to simple English sotries. Listening to natural English is the best way to improve your spoken English.

On the 23rd of this month, I will have been in Japan for 12 years. I have enjoyed my time immensly, and Tokyo is a great place to live and visit!

Consequently, my wife and I are seriously considering entering the Holiday Rentals business. We have a property lined up at a central location here in Tokyo.

Is anyone else in this business, or has used services like AirBnB?
Do you use/know of any other services?

Do you or anyone you know have plans to visit this fair city anytime soon?

Hi guys, we have all had good and bad experiences trying to speak a foreign language.  I thought I would share mine.

Have you had any similar experiences?  Share yours below.  Let's talk.

I have a question for all you guys in a relationship:

I love hanging out with my wife, but she walks soooo slowly.... It's really painful trying to walk at her speed, LOL!

She gets annoyed when I try to stretch out my legs, but I don't know what to do 😂

Is it just me? Have any of you had the same experiences?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering how you feel about all the news coming out of FIFA?  Are you glad that Sepp Blatter has announced his resignation?  Do you think the world cups in Russia and Qatar will be cancelled or go ahead?

What do you all think?

True. As the expression goes, Everyman for himself. But, does that justify corruption?

Hi guys,

I'm trying out a new lesson style on my website.

I would love to get your feedback.  The idea of the lessons is to improve your fluency through lots of listening.  This particualr lesson should be useful for beginner to intermediate levels.

Feedback, both positive and negative is welcome.  :-)

This is a very interesting article about how being Bi-lingual helps you to show more empathy (understanding) towards other people.
What other benefits are there to being bi-lingual?

I need you help guys...

I started this community 18 months ago to make a place for people to talk and engage on a number of topics.  I have noticed, recently, that the conversations have been replaced by a lot of posts, "marketing" different schools and teachers.  (I am also guilty of this...)

I wanted it to be a place for people to just come and TALK in English, but instead, it seems to be a place for teachers to shout out about their schools or services.

I would like to know what you guys (Englsih studnets) want.  Please let me know by completing the simple poll below.

Introduction
Originally from London, UK, where I was a freelance trumpet player and teacher, I now live in Tokyo as a freelance English teacher, and hopefully soon, as a freelance trumpeter again; got to hit the practice studio!  My passions in life are trumpet playing and working with others to set and achieve big goals.  My motto is: Aspire to Inspire!

I have established the website http://mbaenglishonline.com/ specifically for business English learners.  Many business men and women are simply too busy to take time out to study  with a teacher in person, so this website aims to make it possible for them to study in their own time from where ever they are.

Lessons cover pre and post MBA from writing academic essays and discussing complex business topics through to resume writing assistance and English interview seminars in conjunction with my partners.  MBA English Online also maintains a working relationship with recruiters here in Japan to aid the business English student find the perfect job: http://mbaenglishonline.com/post-mba/.

The website also boasts free downloadable vocabulary lists: http://mbaenglishonline.com/resource/  and free interactive vocabulary games and exercises:  http://mbaenglishonline.com/resource/mba-crosswords/ covering both business and MBA specific words and general English.

Feel free to contact me at ross@mbaenglishonline.com for more information.
